When exploration is at 5K altitude in spring, there could be very low temperature, which requires winter clothes. At the same date bike exploration at the hotel altitude requires light clothes as it is extremely hot.

Destaque especial para Erik, do bar, o garçon Juan Pablo e os guias Rodrigo e Juce. Infelizmente, na última noite foi feito um churrasco com horário determinado e não havia alternativa para jantar. O evento abrigava um grupo grande hóspedes corporativos que chegou no dia anterior. A falta de alternativa e a atmosfera corporativa do evento realizado da última noite ofuscou a excelente experiência que tive nos dias que passei no hotel

Very good programming with a variety of activities. Excellent staff that makes every attempt to be accommodating. However, the rooms are quite cramped, not air conditioned and the bathroom is tiny. This would be ok if you didn’t spend a lot of time in the room but there is a scheduled break in the day between the am and pm activities which you do tend to spend in your room.

A estadia no Hotel Explora foi excelente..desde as excursões elaboradas pela equipe, ao atendimento dos guias e funcionários do hotel sempre muito atenciosos e também a comida do hotel que é deliciosa. O quarto estava sempre limpo e na segunda arrumação do dia a equipe do hotel se preocupava em deixar a calefação ligada e alguns mimos.

Excelente experiencia. Equipe muito atenciosa, que nao deixou que as condicoes climaticas atrapalhassem as programaçoes e passeios. Únicos inconvenientes foram a falta de calefaçao no quarto (fazia frio mesmo no verao) e agua fria do chuveiro nos horarios de pico, à noite.

My stay at Explora was fantastic! The food was excellent, the room was excellent, the staff were excellent and there was a huge variety of guided tours to go on from horse riding, high altitude hiking, cycling and many less strenuous activities. To top it off, the lodge has its own observatory and the night sky is superb for star gazing. The hotel is an easy 5-10 min walk into the centre of San Pedro or you can get them to drop you in. The Atacama is for getting out and about in so I didn't spend much time in the town centre except to visit the excellent museum and the artisan markets. Explora is expensive but after roughing it in other parts of Latin America for 5 weeks, it was a treat that combined activity and luxury in sufficient doses to totally recharge the batteries.
