I have enjoyed a lot. Very clean and comfortable beds. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. I also found the location for us was excellent and able to walk down the town where we had found a variety of stores, restaurants and bars. The staff were very friendly and helpful with us. Thank you to the owners for the great hospitality.

We had such a wonderful stay at Hotel Cipreses! The staff were so warm and friendly, and really made us feel at home. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast each morning was delicious and filling. They were also very accommodating with our plans, which we really appreciated. One of the highlights was the night animal tour with Ellie. It was fantastic! We saw so many animals and the kids loved it. Highly recommend this hotel for a cozy and welcoming stay in Monteverde.

Das Zimmer war einfach , sauber und zweckmäßig, wenn auch sehr klein. Personal super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Betten mega gemütlich-wir hatten , die daunendecken waren kuschelig warm im doch etwas kühleren monteverde.. die Lage? Nicht gerade mittendrin, aber da sind die Optionen in monteverde eh eingeschränkt. Ich hätte nicht ohne auto da sein wollen.ein riesiges kingsize bett

Hotel Ciprese was a last minute choice for me and it was the best I could have chosen. It was clean, safe, near town, had a delicious breakfast, and the staff was excellent for recommending local events and tours and helped point me in the right direction. I would 100% stay here again!

Very basic hotel for a quick one night stay. Bed was comfortable. Staff was awesome. Hotel itself was mediocre, but it was cheaper than everything else so all things considered was a decent value.

Wir waren 2 Nächte in diesem Hotel um die Region Monteverde zu besuchen. Das Hotel ist eher einfach und die Einrichtung in die Jahre gekommen. Im Bad gab es keine Abstellmöglichkeiten. Der Wasserhahn in der Dusche ließ sich hervorziehen, das WC wackelt (beides haben wir dem Hotelpersonal mitgeteilt, man versprach sich darum zu kümmern). Das Bett war eher hart, aber nicht unbequem. Unangenehm ist, dass es nur das eine einzige große Fenster im Zimmer gibt - man hat die Wahl zwischen Privatsphäre oder Licht im Zimmer. Andere Gäste müssen direkt vor dem Fenster vorbeigehen um zu ihren Zimmern zu gelangen.
Es gibt keine AC oder Ventilator, was aber bei den Temperaturen auch nicht nötig war - die bereitgestellten Bettdecken waren ausreichend warm.
Dafür war der Zimmerservice liebevoll - bei Ankunft waren die Handtücher mit Blüten aus dem schönen kleinen Garten geschmückt und am Folgetag zu einem Schwan gefaltet. Und die Zimmer waren absolut sauber.
Die Aussicht vom Balkon in Garten und über die Berge war ebenfalls schön.
Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es direkt vor dem Eingang, es gibt einen Nachtwächter.
Frühstück kostet 8 USD extra, wir konnten es aber nicht testen, weil wir früh zu den Reservaten aufgebrochen sind. Abendessen wird nicht angeboten, es gibt reichlich Alternativen in der Stadt (Fußweg machbar, aber immer steil bergauf oder bergab) und außerhalb. Für 1-2 Nächte ist es okay, mehr aber auch nicht.

Hotel Cipreses has a great location and was wonderful for our 1-night stay in November, extra convenient to Santa Elena Cloud Forest and Selvatura Park. We were traveling as a family with 2 teens, 2 adults and 2 grandparents and booked 2 rooms. Both rooms were spacious and clean, with a lovely enclosed balcony/porch. One note - every room’s balcony is connected (only divided by a small railing) so our teenage son was able to sneak next door and enter the other room from the balcony and scare his sister - this gave us a common sense reminder to lock the patio door!
The front desk staff was incredibly nice, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was yummy and generous with pancakes, toast, eggs, rice & beans, coffee and juice.
The only downside of our stay was a slight issue with the bathroom/plumbing. There was a pretty bad smell emanating from the drains in our bathroom. Not sure if it was just normal for the plumbing in the area or if our room had a specific issue. If we had been staying longer I would have brought it up with the staff to see if there was a possible fix. And would absolutely stay here again, and definitely recommend the hotel as a clean, friendly and safe option.

A beautiful, well run property that is hyper close to town center. The staff were incredibly helpful in making local recommendations and the breakfast was perfect before an adventurous day in the cloud forest!

Nothing fancy but fine for the location. The biggest problem was the tile floors were dangerously slippery and they used the same tiles in the room as the shower. It was a bit noisy. The check-in lobby was a nice place to sit and enjoy the sunshine pouring in the windows. The breakfast was fine. There's nice areas outside to sit also. There's a brand new hotel next door that had a fantastic bar and restaurant. Both were GREAT. Also, Bon Appetit, a very good local Italian restaurant is a 3 minute walk away. Make reservations!! Also, it's a short but steep walk into the town of St. Elena. The front desk arranged for our guide to the Cloud Forest who was just so-so. Overall, recommend the place.
