Hostal Antigua - Hostel

Pretty close to the center of Antigua Guatemala, have some bars close by, also some restaurants, I would definitely recommend this place to stay

Excellent location.Not a 5 star but a great deal for money, If you want a private hostel type environment. Private rooms are small but excellent. No AC but not really needed. Very quite for a Hostel. Excellent kitchen really a money saver in Antiqua. Be of service staff. Good security.

I went during low season and thankfully the room I was in had other travelers near my age that were also planning to do the volcano hike the same day. The vibe was chill and not many people around. The staff were nice and were there when I had a question or request.

The hostel is in a great location and it's very cute. The people who work there are nice and helpful. It's very nice they have someone there 24/7. I got a single room with private bathroom and my room was right next to the stairway. I was lucky because I had a meshed window in addition to the two small windows on the door, but the room still gets very stuffy because of lack of airflow. There is a fan but even at low it's very strong and blows directly at the bed, it would be hard to sleep like that. I couldn't keep the windows open at night because of sound and also didn't want to open the windows on the doors because of mosquitos. There is no window to the bathroom so when you take a shower all the steam just flows into the room and stays there so the room is a bit musty. The bathroom is moldy probably because of that, so it wasn't the most comfortable stay. You can also hear everything happening as clear as day, people talking, your neighbor hacking and spitting. I'm not sure there's much they can do about it since it is an old place. The value is a little off though. I moved to another hotel now that actually costs less than this room and it's 3 times the size, with high ceilings, quiet, and good airflow, so there are some better options out there.

Hotelzinho ok , bem proximo ao centro, vale o custo beneficio para um hotel de 2 estelas. Deixaram guardae mochilas e antecipar o chek-in então merecem referencia de qualidade no atendimento ao cliente.

So close to everything, they clean and tidy all day, secure, rooms are very clean but must say quite tiny - the rooftop kitchen and dining space make up for this such a lovely space, looked after our bags while went up the volcano.

Tanto en la pagina de Expedia y en Fb del hotel indica que cuenta con piscina y es completamente falso. no brindan accesorios de baño (shampoo) este es pagado, los dispensadores de alcohol vacios y otros no funcionan. No volveria.

Beautiful rooftop terrace, good location. Jessica was very helpful. The dogs are very friendly and adorable! Free filtered drinking water and hot shower.

Great location, property was well maintained daily, access to kitchen a definite plus, plenty of hot water, family atmosphere. Would have liked to see the upstairs terrace open until ten. Would recommend to friends and family 😎

Turismo

Be careful when you book through Expedia. Expedia charge you for a room for 2 people and at the hostal you receive a hospital bed for one person for the price of $45.98. Expedia pay for this bed $13 to the owner of the Hostel and take the rest apparently for service (booking online). People from Expedia lie to no end and never accept that they overcharge you. My experience with Expedia was the worse I ever had.

Management and staff in this hostal are not honest. For 3 single reservations of $13 each, we received a bill of $105.00 Expedia and the staff at this hostal refused to refund the money overcharged to our credit card.

Das Hostel liegt nur 2 Blocks von der wunderschönen Plaza Antiguas entfernt. Alle anderen Sehenswürdigkeiten sind ebenfalls zu Fuss erreichbar. Erwähnenswert ist der schöne, wenn auch kleine Innenhof und die Dachterrasse von welcher man einen guten Blick auf die Vulkane hat. Das Zimmer ist zweckmäßig und relativ klein. Die Sauberkeit entspricht lateinamerikanischem Durchschnitt. Da das innenliegende Bad durch das Zimmer entlüftet wird sind in beiden Räumen Schimmelflecken zu sehen. Warmwasser vorhanden, allerdings nur eine Temperatur. Alles weitere war o.k. Die Betreiber sind sehr bemüht und hilfsbereit. Touren / Transfers können über das Hostel gebucht werden. Es gibt einen Zusammenschluss von Hotels, so dass man am Schluss sowieso meist beim gleichen Anbieter landet… Direkt nebenan befindet sich eine Bäckerei. Ein Supermarkt ist 3 Blocks entfernt. Antigua ist ein Muss auf jeder Guatemala-Reise, wer keinen großen Luxus braucht findet hier eine akzeptable Budget-Unterkunft.
