Overall is good, but the night/reading lights mounted just at the wall above the head of the bed, where is danger to hurt your head when I try to get up from the bed. Those lights with metal-made fixture at sharp edges or square shape should not put there.

Our room was great. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Offered a nice breakfast to start our day.

I liked the lake view. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was the best out of the hotels we stayed at along our route.

Modern. Rooms were so comfortable. Windows to see outside were amazing. Restaurant was excellent. The bar and lounging area seemed great, though we didn’t get to experience it. We would stay here again.

Hermoso lugar, con vistas hermosas. Excelentes las habitaciones y muy cómodas. Hay opción para que te avise el personal si hay auroras boreales. Tienen área de juegos lo que es conveniente cuando se está en un lugar alejado de la ciudad.

Great hotel with premium amenities. Great location to see the northern lights, the hotels wake up for the lights was a great bonus as we were able to see them during our stay.

Really nice hotel, clean, modern and great restaurant. Best beef tenderloin! Breakfast was delicious as well.

Hotel is a ways from any dining or grocery options (groceries at the gas station), about 26 minutes. Not far from hiking (crater Hverfjall) and the lava fields (Dimmuborgir), about 45 minutes to Hverir and Krafla (Viti crater). Great scenic views from the hotel lounge. Dinner not served till 6pm, and no other options on site till then. Breakfast was included and had all the necessities. This is a hotel heavily frequented by tour and bus groups, so expect busy times at the restaurant. We found the food would have been much improved if it didn’t have so much rich sauce (arctic char), and so much cheese (lobster pasta). Rooms are comfortable and clean, it would be nice to have had a small fridge (but this doesn’t seem to be a thing in this country). Passing the laundry room en route to the rooms, afforded the sulfuric smells redolent of the thermal plants up the hill. Overall a comfortable stay.

This is an excellent location when visiting Myvatn

Property was clean but seemed barebones. Not a lot of “extras”, I,e., shampoo, conditioners, etc. Staff was polite and attentive.

I stayed 2 nights here because there is so much to see in the Myvatn area. Laxa was helpful in questions on all the hiking I was doing there. The breakfasts and dinners were excellent.

Das Hotel hat aufgrund seiner Lage und Architektur einen besonderen Flair. Das Zimmer und das Bad waren sehr sauber. Das Angebot in der Speisekarte beschränkte sich auf jeweils vier Menüs aus den Kategorien "Groß" und "Klein". Da es automatisch als Vorspeise Pro Person 2 dicke Scheiben leckeres Brot mit einer sehr leckeren Butter, dif mit Skyr vermischt war, gab, bin ich auch mit der Kategorie "Klein" gut satt geworden. Uns beiden hat es sehr gut geschmeckt. Das Personal war durchweg freundlich und kommunikativ. Einziger Nachteil: In dieser Region gab es zu dieser Zeit (29. Mai) unfassbar viele Gnitzen. Das ist also nicht ein Problem des Hotels sondern der ganzen Region. Unser Hotel war aber gut darauf eingestellt (s.u.). Es handelte sich wohlvorewigrend um männliche Gnitzen, denn wir wurden nicht gestochen.Die Schwärme beschränkten sich hauptsächlich auf die Gebiete rund um die Seen und Flüsse. Um das Hotel war zum Glück nicht so viel los und die Fenster waren sehr gut durch Netze geschüt, so dass man nachtsruhigden Gewissens die Fenster auflassen konnte. Der Service und die Erlebnisse, die man in der Umgebung haben konnte entschädigten einen vollends. Dettifoss ist ungefähr 1 Autostunde entfernt und ca 20 Minuten kann man brodelnde Schlammlöcher aufgrund vulkanischer Aktivität bewundern. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.
