Vintage Apartment Hotel

BED BUGS. After first night: we woke up late and found our breakfast bags on the floor outside our hotel room. As soon as we put them on the counter in the apartment, a bug came crawling out from the bottom of one. I told my husband & he grabbed a napkin to squish it and blood exploded everywhere. I wasn’t able to get a good look at it before he killed it but it was far and red & obviously full of blood. My mind went straight to bed bugs. Because I was in hospitality and property management for almost a decade in a large city, I was trained in signs of bedbugs. But, we had to rush out to try and make all of our tours. As soon as we got back I stripped the bed and found black specks in the the mattress seems (a clear sign of bedbugs) it wasn’t a ton, but enough to make me too uncomfortable to sleep there again. We called the number on the door (remember, there’s ZERO HUMANS ONSITE at this location). We explained what we found and she moved us one floor up. So I went ahead to strip the beds and these beds were WORSE. Not only was there more black specks on the mattresses but also what looked like bug casings also in the corner seems. I took pictures and ran it through ChaptGPT and it confirmed BEDBUGS. We booked another hotel& let them know- they didn’t respond. Reached out again, asked for a refund it was DENIED. Days later, they claim it’s sand and lint-under the mattress protectors? They’ve now ghosted our requests for the refund for the nights we didn’t stay. 0/10

Very cute hotel right in the center of Reykjavík. We had the apartment suite which was clean and elegant. We loved it.

Convenient location. Great communication from hotel team. Good coffee provided. Good kitchen amenities (coffee machine and water kettle came in real clutch). Only qualm is the noise level out on the street at night. Even with the windows closed you can still hear people screaming outside.

Great central location! Easy check in. Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect location. Walk right out on to main shopping street. Isn't noisy from bedroom. To access apartment you get a code that works on enterance, hallway & bedroom door so write it down so you don't get locked out... but usually someone is sat in the attached wine bar at night anyway. Room is good size and we saw northern lights from window more than once even though it's in the centre. Apartment smelt great too using a local diffuser. Only thing i would improve is the sink is too small to wash up quickly & there is no wrack to dry plates on so have to do it manually with teatowel or use a dishwasher which is a bit of a faff when on a busy holiday. Bonus supermarket is a 3 min walk away so you can cook and save money as the restaurants are very expensive. Cheap hotdog stand near the main church which is 3mins walk away too.

Sauberes Zimmer gute Lage

The room was spotless! It is a legit studio apartment complete with an induction stove, microwave, and fridge - which made meal prep super easy on nights we chose not to eat out or got back late from a tour (there's a supermarket and a couple of bodegas within walking distance). Our room faced the street which was no problem, the blackout curtain provided enough privacy, and the self serve method for sheets, towels, and coffee was perfect for a couple staying for five days. Highly recommend the Vintage Apartment Hotel!

Our code to get into the hotel did not work. The email confirming our reservations did not include a telephone number and specifically said not to call - only email. It took 30 minutes to get a response to correct the code issue causing us to be late to our booking in the city.

The room was spotless and the staff was courteous. The location was great for exploring the area. Would stay again

Das Zimmer war geräumig, die Betten sehr gemütlich. Leider war es sehr laut, da unser Zimmer (304) zur Fußgängerzone hinaus lag. Bis tief in die Nacht hörte man den Partylärm und morgens ab 7:00 Uhr fuhr die Kehrmaschine. Das Frühstück wird in einer Tüte vor die Tür gestellt, leider erst gegen 7:30 Uhr. Wenn man früh raus muss, hat man nichts von dem Frühstück. Ich würde beim nächsten Mal kein Frühstück buchen, sondern selbst einkaufen gehen. Das Frühstück ist schon recht teuer im Hotel. Die Lage ist aber für eine Städtetour perfekt. Alles fußläufig erreichbar.

Wonderfully appointed and spotlessly clean boutique hotel. Perfect location for enjoying downtown and centrally located. Most restaurants, services, bakeries, information hubs, and other amenities are within a 15 minute walk. 10/10 Absolutely recommend

Everything was so good! I love the space , was so clean and the food thank you definitely we coming back we had amazing experience.

The location is amazing in the middle of the shopping, dining, supermarkets, bus stops etc. Room is not large but has everything one needs. Loved the kitchenette, access to coffee, towels, and kitchen needs. Room was clean, modern and includes a small dining table. We enjoyed the bar downstairs when it was open. Hope we can afford this place if we ever to Iceland!
