La Ferme El Dar

The Ferme El Dar is a unique establishment, full of charm, friendly accomodating staff particularly Nasser, terrific local cuisine, I slept in a lodge and loved tge ‘Out of Africa’ feel, bathed in the pool as peacocks roamed the premises. Truly paradise on earth. A hidden gem! I strongly recommend!

If you are looking for an ‘Out of Africa’ experience in Morocco then this is the place for you, stunningly authentic, friendly accomodating staff, and home-grown produce used in cooking which is delicious by the way, an absolute find!

I would recommend staying here. We had a lovely time. I am going to gush with some positives but please read to then end for a balanced review. The staff are lovely. They are willing to do everything and anything for you, It is a joy to hear them chat and laugh with each other. It is obviously a very happy workplace. The site is clean and secure. The gardens are well maintained and the pool, patios and bar are present, shady, sunny, and Comfortable. Breakfast is plentiful, served promptly and flexible. It is a little repetitive but that is probably the same anywhere. Before I go on... we paid €39 per night. Recently I paid £35 (€36) for a travelodge which did not offer Wi-fi or parking!! Just remember you are not paying five star prices for this place! The accommodation is novel. The tents are well equipped and provide enough space to balance comfort and novelty! They are not brilliantly maintained. The swing doors between our bed area and toilet were hanging off and the sink did not look secure. Some guests complained that their air conditioning was not working but ours was fine. The drinks at the bar are expensive. £2.50 for a can and £5 for a beer or glass of wine. The unchanging menu varies from lovely to ‘uk’ A bit of advice.: At 6:30am the mosques will shout its prayers, and 6:34 the dogs will sing along, then the donkeys join in. Take earplugs! But don’t be put off. You are in Africa!!

Mon avis est très mitigé concernant cet établissement. La piscine est jolie et bien entretenu les transats ne sont pas très propre mais une fois la serviette dessus c'est correct. De même pour les nappes qui ne sont pas changé on mange donc sur des nappes tachées les galettes de chaises également. Le petit-déjeuner et très bien et copieux, concernant les repas à la carte les portions sont un peu légère mais le service est rapide et les prix corrects. Les tentes sont aménagées avec douche individuelle et toilette, la literie est plutôt confortable dommage qu'on ne puisse pas dormir parce que les chiens aboient toutes les nuits et toute la nuit. En journée certains membres du personnel se baignent dans la piscine attitude pas très professionnel. Toutefois j'étais prête à laisser un avis plutôt positif parce que le rapport qualité-prix est quand même là pour 35 € la nuit il ne faut pas s'attendre au Sofitel. Ce qui a influencé mon avis négatif et l'attitude du responsable lors de mon retour à l'aéroport par le chauffeur il m'a réclamé le double de la somme annoncer sur place. Lorsque je l'ai appeler pour lui faire remarquer il a eu une attitude irrespectueuse et violente au téléphone. Je ne retournerai plus à cet endroit surtout qu'à Marrakech les beaux logement ne manque pas.

Had to wait a while for our tent and then the aircon didn’t work so we were moved, staff are are great. Tents are comfortable. Watch out for the noise from a club or disco that you can hear late into the evening. Menu is very limited and not always available. Food is ok, we had booked half board and were told when we got there that it included a main course and a dessert. First night ok, second we were offered an orange with cinnamon sprinkled on it, and were then told on our last night that we had to pay extra (and did) for a piece of cake. Wouldn’t recommend the restaurant, much cheaper and better food served in town. Staff were lovely and worked with what they had. Pool and gardens nice, plenty of sun beds and very peaceful. Could do with a luck of paint here and there and the menu definitely needs to be worked on.

Établissement très agréable, très bien tenu, un personnel et un patron irréprochables. La carte du restaurant mériterait d'être plus riche pour les séjours longs et la 1/2 pension devrait intégrer les boissons. Les boissons sont relativement chères par rapport aux bars de Marrakech. Les plats servis sont bons mais pas transcendants. Point noir : les nuisances sonores la nuit (chiens errants, pintades sauvages, mobylettes ...) qui empêchent clairement tout repos alors que nous étions venus entre autres pour cela. La piscine est somptueuse et le cadre magnifique.

Die gesamte Anlage war schön und gepflegt. Eine Insel der Ruhe mit schönem Ambiente. Angenehme Distanz zur Medina von Marrakesch, gut erreichbar mit dem öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel. Für das Taxi verlangen die 100 Dirham, ÖV 5 Dirham pro Person. Umfangreiches Continental Frühstück. Sehr nettes Personal. Eine Übernachtung im Zelt hat auch Nachteile: Hundegebell und Abreise vom anderen Gästen, abends Musik von der Bar etc. Der Toilettengang im Zelt darf mit den Mitbewohnern geteilt werden, den ganz stillen Ort findet man aber im Hauptgebäude. Insgesamt aber sehr zu empfehlen sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Oase van rust. Perfect om te ontspannen en veel buiten wil zijn. Bijzonder om in een tent te slapen. Ik raad het iedereen aan!

Forget about riads in noisy medina. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday, book La Ferme El Dar. The tents are spacious with everything that you need. Sun, pool bar and olives trees plus some friendly animals in the background :) The staff are super attentive and can't do enough for you. The menu offers traditional Moroccan dishes and European classic. If you would like an adventure, you can pick a day trip or drive / order taxi to Marrakesh which is only 15 min drive away. We were so glad we booked it rather than staying in Marrakesh or one of the package holiday hotels. Perfect for couples.
