The street parking is frustrating theres no close ones especially if you get there about 5pm so you might want to pay for parking at vr. Rooms are clean property could do with a makeover a few broken things in room but for a bed for the night it works and its cheap close to casino and food variety down atreet is fantastic

Love the 20s-vibe of the furnishings and the vastness of its rooms - even the smallest room has space for an extra bed or two! The larger rooms are like a suite! And being central its great for restaurants and cafes just outside the door. This is our go-to hotel in the Tron every time :)

The back entrance from the parking shed was dirty and had a divey feel to it.
The room was lovely and warm and the decor was Elizabethan, some may find that dated. The parking was a bit tricky if your vehicle was 4WD. Like the convenience of food places handy to the accomodation and it was surprisingly quiet for being located on Hamilton's Main Street.

Pretty good- didn't get much sleep personally, as there was a-lot of noise and doors slamming till 3am. So if you want somewhere peaceful & quiet and a deep sleep wouldn't recommend here for this. Otherwise it was great on every other level! Thanks

Parking was a nightmare. Not too mention having to pay $20 a night just for parking. Really hard to get in and and when there's other cars.
Hot water from the tap was so boiling hot i actually burnt my hand.
Room was really spacious and bed was confidant enough.
Didn't feel confidant having showers there.
Apart from that. It is a good location with lots of food places free wifi. No cooking facilities that i could see. Just bar fridge and kettle. But not sure about other rooms.
Would probably pay more to stay elsewhere next time. Sorry.

Bathroom was not clean, toilet or shower. Heat pump was only blowing cold air. Reception was very unhappy when we arrived and when I complained before check out she looked under pressure and upset as there were other people staying wanting to complain. Her welfare I was concerned about and could very well be an investigation by the council. The lifts had mixed messages on how many people can be in lift and also the weight on 3 stickers were all different. There was no certification ticket any where. The stairs were out of commission so what does one do in a fire???? The Hamilton City council have a lot to explain as does the hotel. No one was available to take our complaints after hours. The VR in the name must stand for Very Rundown. Shocking stay!!!

The hotel staff gave a congested parking lot just in the corner of building pillar, despite there were lots of empty and easy parking lot. Besides, paying $20 extra for parking, I got narrow parking lot and car's mirror struck on pillar edge.
The room was in the corner side, but it was shown different room while I booked for it. The strong scent was being used into room and I struggled to tolerate it. Additionally, that room was not quiet, some noise was coming from aircon and noise of a machine from outside of this building for the whole night. Overall, the experience was really awful.

We were in Three rooms, and the rooms were old, dirty, and had holes in the bath tiles, showers did not work properly, service staff could bairly understand english!! only good thing was location! dont know how it has 4 stars, smashed windows and doors, very disappointing!

The rooms were large and clean, however the air-con wasn't great, and they had plumbing issues.
Communication from the hotel via the hotels.com messaging service prior to arrival was non-existent.
Not worth the $200+ per night.
