Excellent service from the staff and the room I stayed in was superb. Once I arrived the staff greeted me with smiles and were carry pleasant to speak to. The room was clean and security is top notch.

The staff go out of their way to be nice to everyone. I would recommend this hotel. I would also recommend to lessen the buffet options and bring down the charge for lunch and dinner. Not a lot of guests eat like that with a price to match. Overall, the hotel is grand as it should be with perhaps a change in carpet in heavy traffic areas like hallways and function rooms. The hotel is iconic so overall, I would stay here again. And recommend that you do so too!!!

First time to Philippines. 17 day trip. Stayed in three different 5-star hotels in Makati and a dive resort in Mabini. The Manila Hotel experience is head and shoulders above all the others. It’s the only one I want to go back to. It’s probably going to make all of the hotels I stay at in the future seem inferior.

The Manila hotel is an icon in the Philippines. Presidents and diplomats stay there and MacArthur is a famous tenant. So much history and they have a museum, original art, Nara furniture, luxury chandeliers. I love that all the employees wear traditional Filipino dressings. The bed mattresses are top notch firm. It’s walkable to Rizal Park and the National Museums. Intramuros is a car ride away. Mall of Asia is also a car ride away. We had a very nice productive stay for just 2 nights. And the breakfast and dinner buffet were excellent.

The Manila Hotel is a Manila classic. It's a beautiful and elegant hotel and it showcases the historic Spanish Colonial influence in the Philippines (if that is your thing). The rooms have the old classic luxury feel and the food was great.

Waterfall view is just so-so. Don’t be fool! Even a water in your room you have to pay. Just have to go to gym just to get water nor an ice machine in your floor.

After this trip, I don't know if I can stay anywhere else in Manila. The mixture of old world architecture and charm, combined with all the amenities of a modern luxury hotel coupled with amazing, attentive and friendly staff blew me away. One afternoon I spent an hour in the lobby just drinking in the vibe.

First, the hotel has made a great decision to maintain it's beautiful antique design, which is it's strong point. It also maintains long-term staff which provides something few environments offer: continuity of relationships over years. It is rare and important to have people know us over many years and it makes the Manila Hotel feel like a home. This is it's key value for me.
It's also a fact that grace and excellence are eroding with thime:
* Small details are not repaired all over the hotel.
* The beautiful greeters with welcome drinks are less and less common (the airline staff were getting a welcome drink and I had to ask for one this time).
* The fruit in the buffet was minimal and not as fresh as it could be.
Nino, manager at the buffet is always a highlight of my visit - he makes me feel welcome every time for 15 years.
