Frangipani Motel

Ideally located in Galle walled city and easy to find. Owners and staff were accommodating and facilities were good. Only discomfort was that the rooms have thin walls and could hear people in next room.

就在Galle Dutch Fort内，像是国内的小古城，但安静许多，店铺多，白天有游客，晚上基本没啥人，走出去2分钟就能看到印度洋，风景极佳。perfect location, clean room, stunning views within walking distance. The breakfast was amazing.

They didn't find our booking when arrived, and no double room left, so they offered us a triple room. However, the room had many mosquito, the TV was malfunctioned. The wifi speed was too slow, I even couldn't receive email and browse website. The next day, they needed us moved to a double room which was not located in the same building. Not much mosquitoes this time, but the TV was still malfunctioned. And NO wifi and NO WATER SUPPLY in the midnight!! When I woke up to go toilet in the midnight, I found that no flushing water and no tap water to wash my hands!!! However the owners were nice and kind. The location of the hotel was quite good which was in the Fort and near the lighthouse. Generally speaking, the facilities were a bit old, not very clean. I think we could find a better one in the same budget.

We stayed at Frangipani Motel for one night in October 2017, and we're very pleased that we chose this place, due the excellent location,despite it being a little more expensive than other places we have stayed in Sri Lanka so far. Bit of confusion at check-in as the lady wanted a different booking number than the one we had through hotels.com, but was resolved swiftly - also got a free welcome drink which was much appreciated. The room was clean, bed was large with a mosquito net and air conditioning worked well. Only downside was the toilet seat was very stained. Breakfast was lovely, huge teapot of tea and coffee, lots of toast, marmalade, big fruit platter and fried eggs.
