Clean and friendly service

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Oviya in Vavuniya! The town view from the hotel was really nice, and it made for a pleasant and convenience throughout our visit. The receptionist team was very helpful, arranging a room for us and also taking care of our van driver’s needs. They were quick to assist with our breakfast requests, ensuring everything went smoothly. Overall, we had a great experience at the hotel, and we would definitely recommend it for anyone visiting the area!

The room need better maintenance, many bugs and lizard inside the room, not clean. Admin should consider this issues and hope to take care. Staffs friendly and very helpful.

It was overall a pleasant stay. The hotel is clean and reasonably comfortable. My only comment is that the shared Iron which was kept available for guests to use in the common area should be checked and repaired regularly. Some guests must had used it before with the heat turned up too high. The scorched Iron base is black and rough making it hard to use.

Place was excellent and could be the best place for the price in the vicinity. Room was very spacious and clean. Location of the hotel was also convenient for everything. There was slight delay in providing the service by the hotel staff on ordered food items which is the only negative factor.

Vavuniya might not be the trendiest touristic location of Sri Lanka, but if you ever want to pay a visit to the city, this middle-class hotel will perfectly do its job of welcoming you and offering you some rest. It's clean, it's comfortable, you'll get what you paid for. There is one honourable mention for this hotel though that allows it to go beyond just being a 'good hotel': its restaurant! Darn, this restaurant single-handedly deserves the whole visit of the city! You would probably already know that for Western standards, food is particularly cheap in Sri Lanka unlike accommodation which is simply 'less expensive'. Well, this restaurant will remain on the 'cheap' category for a Western wallet while proposing you marvellous food with the small details and little attentions that make all the difference. And it's so convenient: You wake up, you realise you are hungry, go downstairs and it's just next door! Most clients do not necessarily stay at the hotel. They come from nearby because, of course, they know about the reputation of that place. So, yes, you would certainly be well inspired to stay and eat at this establishment.

Good house keeping and great front desk staff. Great food

Staff were very friendly and accommodating, very convenient. Arrived early and got checked in without hassle. Meals were requested as preferred and was honoured on every occasion. Extended stay for one night due to delayed travel plans and had no issues even got a discount on checkout.

Good and clean hotel. Looks near new. There is no tea/ coffee making facilities and no breakfast.

This was suppose to be the best hotel in Vavuniya. Unfortunately I didn’t feel safe staying here with my family. Sheets were dirty and and the bathroom just smelled. We checked in 5pm and out out by 6am.
