Best place to spend your travel time in Ragama,Sri Lanka

This was the worst place to stay ever. Everything is broken, the own meet will upcharge you for free breakfast, that I had to report to the local police as he wanted to scam and hotels.com didn't do anything about it either. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! It's not an actual hotel. It's a broken down house that no taxi or tuktuk can find since the streets are not entered correctly into Google maps. If you like snakes under the pool, then this is the place for you. The owner sprayed kerosene underneath while the motor was on to scare the snake away. Another guest and I turned off the motor so the whole place won't blow up. If you want the pool clean, then you better pour the chemical in yourself. Broken toilets, sinks, and no toilet paper. If you ask, they will tell you they are out and smile about it. In guess this means they are not g going to other any more. Since they do not put soap in the bathroom and turn off the water to the place, good luck getting water for showers. I had to use the pool to take shower and demand chlorine be put in. You pay nothing for the place and get nothing in return. I stayed in the kitchenette room and had termites leaves wood dust on my clothes that I took out to iron over night. The pictures do not reflect the real rooms or beds. I ask, where are the sheets and covers? They told me they changed the pics. You're going to get one white sheet, two if your lucky. owner try to install us in a different room that we booked. A small "bed" placed into a dirty kitchen, with a window broken and a fan. I refuse and ask for the room booked, double bed with AC. After phone Cali, it was agree to move into the room booked even if a small bed was added. Wifi is very low, it remember me the modem's time. Place was dusty and water pressure was equal to wifi Info the batheroom there is an open space between the wall and the roof, open for mosquitos.

So its been around a month or so since my stay here...The place is more like a bed and breakfast than an actual hotel. There is a pool, but rather small, more like a large Jacuzzi if it had water jets!!! The first time I stayed there, there was a man who was also the cook and cleaner I guess. About three weeks later I came back for my last two nights in the country...this man had gone away for some medical reason or other...So the owner had to meet up with me to let me in. The owner is relatively decent a dude, but when I first stayed, I ended up booking a car service through him to take me to Arugam Bay, which is like a four hour drive, he charged me around 150, the driver told me that the owner actually told him that I was only willing to pay much less and got paid around 80 dollars...I'm not sure if he was telling me this story to make me feel sorry for him, but I do feel that the charge probably was a bit more than I should have paid, maybe around at least by 30 dollars...But besides that, the place is relatively well kept, there is a kitchen you can use if you want, and not much in the local area to do. I actually came to this town to spend some time with some people I met in Colombo at their Zoo. So I can't really say there is much to do here because I didn't end up going anywhere while staying here!!!
