Clarion Inn Harpers Ferry - Charles Town

More staff needed as they appear overworked.

I've stayed here many times both for business and leisure trips. This is a nice property located in Harper's Ferry and convenient to Charles Town and the nearby attractions. Having the restaurant in the lobby is a nice touch. I will definitely be back.

Property is older and shows it. It was fairly clean, breakfast was decent and people were nice.

The staff were courteous. The carpet in the hall ways, room needs care or replacement. Breakfast had reasonable choices in a spacious place

We stayed for only one night. General service was good. The hotel is simple but nice and clean. The only problem we faced was the water in the pool was very cold. One of the employees said the water “warmer” was broken. Room was clean and comfy. This facility is very close to the National Park. I would stay again.

It was convenient to Harpers Ferry.

Liked that it was so close to the National Park. Front desk person didnt acknowledge me and left before the transaction was completed, Another person came over and told me what to do. She did not hive me her name. It was Friday, April 18, 2025 @ 3:00 p.m

The bar and bar food is fantastic. I was afraid to go in the pool because the whole pool smelled like pee. The first room they gave us had a broken door lock. The breakfast orange juice was rancid but the sausage was delicious

Overall, we were disappointed — especially considering the $200 price tag for a single night. First, while we appreciate that the hotel is dog-friendly, there was no mention on Expedia about the $50 dog fee or weight restrictions, which would have been good to know upfront. Guests with dogs are placed in Building Two, which is clearly in rough shape. There was a huge hole in the wall right outside our room, a broken window, and an out-of-order ice machine. Even worse, the entrance to Building Two wasn't secure so anyone could have come in. Even if the space had been technically clean, the state of disrepair made it hard to feel comfortable. The room itself was run-down and smelled musty. There were rusty rust-stained walls under the bathroom sink, a filthy bathroom fan, and the shower didn't get very hot. There was also a big transition from the carpet to the bathroom and both my husband and I stubbed our toes multiple times. We also visited the pool area and were disappointed there too. The water was cloudy (though warm like bathwater — which I loved), but there was trash floating in the pool and greasy prints all over the glass walls. The whole area looked like it needed a deep cleaning and some serious attention. The front desk lady was welcoming and helpful — and the complimentary breakfast was decent. However, the lobby itself was marred by harsh, off-putting LED lights, adding to the sense that the whole place needs an update. Two out of five stars.

The deadbolt lock on my door did not work, and maintenance would not repair it. The sink had problems, a chair was stained in my room, the floor was stained. Thank God the sheets were clean and the tub was clean. Everywhere the hotel was filthy, the entry, the elevators the carpets stained, everything all very run down. I asked the manager on duty what was going on because the reviews were pretty good and she said that the hotel was purchased and undergoing renovations that were going to take time. The restaurant is separate from the hotel so you can't charge a meal to your room. The coffee cups in the morning had no lids, and no fresh half and half. I'm not sure the heating cooling system in my room was working. Manager on duty was unresponsive and a bit defensive. Overall very disappointing.

Great property and a great location.

Room was dirty. First toilet didnt flush. Had to move rooms. Carpet needs serious attention in rooms and hallways! Filthy dirty. Saw no cleaning staff. Just carts setting unattended in the hallways... Hmmm. Front lobby was dirty. Floor had sawdust or wood chips all over. Not cleaned up from day before. Walls and bathroom door was filthy. Water pressure was VERY low in our room. Edges of the carpet in our room was filthy from about 3 inches from the wall. Dust and dirt buildup. The night stand lights didn't work so had my son move bed to re plug in the lights... WOW! Dirty and filthy.. old food crumbs and someones artificial fingernail under headboard area. Also, little mini goldfish crackers under edge of bed when we pulled back the covers.... Would love a refund but of course i won't get it....They will just leave their review of how sorry they are and hope you come back again message. But if your looking for that kind of experience, be my guest.. However the location is great.. The breakfast was good. Very pleaseant staff in the breakfast area

It was a comfortable place to stay. It was clean and quiet. Would stay again and would recommend it.

Amazing stay

At first glance looked great then we noticed things staff said they would tell so Wine about but didn’t try to fix such as breakfast almost empty except for scrambled eggs before 8 am on Saturday and Friday of Easter weekend and the shower rod missing screws so shower curtain couldn’t stay closed so tile floor was soaked causing me to almost fall and front entry carpets as well as staircase carpeting not vacuumed in 4 days we stayed

Spent a long weekend in Harpers Ferry and liked the location of this hotel. The room was very clean, bed was very comfortable, and loved the quietness in the room. Restaurant located inside the hotel had good food and service. The rooms could benefit from some updating.

The hotel was clean and staff were friendly and helpful.

The location was easy to find and convenient for us.
