For the price I expected more. The towels were stained with blood or makeup.I couldn't tell. Room smelled, it must be kind of like fish too. All the furniture was probably forty plus years old. That's how good the bathtub had some type of stains in it, unknown. The best part was the location.

Great location that is an easy walk to the Grandview stairs leading down to the beach. Shops and restaurants are nearby with a quick walk or really short drive. Very no frills, not even a coffee maker, but multiple coffee shops right next door. Not immaculately clean, but clean enough. Parking is limited and TIGHT! Overall, well worth the stay. We'll probably stay again.

We were pleasantly surprised. Our room was newly renovated and was very charming. The bed w as so comfortable. The bathroom was really nice. We loved all the little lights arounds and the deco was really cute. The blind that pulled down said welcome to SD with a beach scean. . The only thing that we did not like was the 3 pm check in. They do not offer early check in for any reason. We had a event to go to and had.I explained this to the lady at the desk if there was a bathroom or anything we could change our clothes in since we had to leave befor 3 and she absolutely said. There is nothing to use or that we could do until 3. We changed in our car. andidn't carcharming.

Extra charge for checking in before 4pm. Room and beds were dirty and had tons of ants & the bathroom fixtures were coming apart. Fine for a last minute stay by the beach, but definitely not a first choice.

Front desk staff asked for $10 fee to pay before giving room. She said it was for room cleaning fee.
When I asked to speak to manager, he said it was $5 for online booking fee since third party websites don’t pay them properly.
Seemed shady to me.
Asked Expedia for a refund.
Don’t recommend staying there.

They are in the process of remodeling the rooms. I had a remodeled room that could have been a lot cleaner and could have had more thoughtful features (maybe they are not done yet?)
Eg the bathroom window did not close and the screen was filthy. There wasn’t a shelf or ledge in the shower to put soap or shampoo bottles so it had to sit on the floor. Also you have to stand in the shower to turn on the water as one door is stationary. The 2 shades don’t make the room dark for sleeping.
A nice mini-kitchen with a stove, brand new, but no kettle, coffee or other kitchen items. Nice to have motion sensor lights under the bed! Like the new decor. Good to have a new mattress and sheets!

pictures on expedia are not accurate at all. really only a good price if you need a place to put your stuff. dark rooms, outdated, and when we checked in the door to our room was wide open. this was just not a nice place only upside was proximity to the ocean.

Getting here isn’t easy as it looks. Better go 25 mph and look ahead or listen to GPS and follow their directions or you’ll miss it. Checking in was fairly easy and quick. What I didn’t care for was that there was a $5 fee when you check in that I didn’t know about, but whatever.
Once I got to my room, I was surprised with how spacious it was and thankful for how comfortable the bed was. Having a/c is always a must for me and I was glad it worked really well. But having the option of a ceiling fan was a really nice touch. The area around you is fairly quiet and you get a feeling of safety as well.
It may be a bit of a walk, but you will be gifted with an amazing view of the beach and the smell of ocean air as you approach it. Just be warned though, the stairs that lead down to the beach is a bit steep so watch your step.
I would definitely recommend this place again to anyone that needs a quick place to stay and a quiet nights sleep.
