The Hotel at the University of Maryland

I like the hotel I like the hotel room. I like the pool I like the area I like the parking and everything was quiet.

Not good

The stay was good. The only issue I had was the heat not working properly.

Absolutely love this hotel and wish we could have stayed longer. Staff was friendly and efficient. Room was spacious, great view and quiet. Property has a beautiful pool and fitness center. Plenty of food options on property or within walking distance. Can’t wait to come back.

Everything you need in the hotel or with a short walk like CVS for example. Good portions from all restaurants inside the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Would stay again.

This is our second time staying at the hotel and it’s amazing everytime. It is so clean and comfortable. We love it. The rates are also great

Excellent hotel with two(that I saw) good restaurants and a parking garage. The room had a wonderful view of UMD. The staff are approachable and helpful.

smell of urine on the bed and pillow!! I really had a horrible experience stay at this hotel, we were there for the competition. i smelled something strange when i went to the bed. it took a while for me to realize that the smell of pee from the bed i was shocked and couldn't believe what happened. feel disgusting, they did change the room for me after i complained the situation. they declined my request for refund, and i haven't received any sorry letter from the hotel. they just want to forget it. i don't mind, only have know that next time when i check in the hotel, i have to smell the bed first.

I'm rating 2 stars because I booked a Studio King and ended up in a King Guestroom. So I paid a higher rate and was in a room a tier lower.

Very clean and conveniently located next to College where I needed to be for my daughters Natural History Day project.

This is a lovely hotel, however, much of the staff is very snobbish. We arrived on Sunday around 2 PM and were promptly told that check-in was not until 4. We waited it out, but I did not appreciate the brush off. In addition, the coffeemaker is an ILLY. I knew how to operate this, but it was not operating properly, so I had to stand and keep pressing the icon (4 times) to get a regular cup of coffee. The rooms do not have a microwave. I find this inconvenient. TO be such an expensive and convenient hotel, they amenites do not match expectations. This was not my first experience there, but it will be my last. Last year, the rate was doubled for my last night there with no explanation. Since I was there at my own expense to be a judge for National History Day, I was very shocked. I asked to speak to a manager, but one was not available. I got phone numbers and called the next day. I left a message, but was not called back. I called a second time, again with no response. I do not believer this is good customer service. I chose this hotel due to its proximity to the campus. WIthout a car, it was walkable to my judging assignments, but I will figure something out in the future.

Overall the stay was good. However service can be improved. For example during our entire stay the middle elevator was not functional causing folks to wait for a long time to get on the elevator.

Enjoyed my stay, everything was within reach. Hotel was clean and so much to do.
