NH is a well-known hotel chain, and we've stayed with them in other cities. This was our first time in Montevideo. The location is excellent. It faces the riverfront with a great view, and being in the historic district, it's within walking distance of the main attractions of the Old City. The hotel is in good condition, with very good beds, comfortable, and very clean.

There no better way to wake up in Montevideo and see the water of Rio de la Plata. This is the view you can enjoy at NH Colombia. And that is what makes this hotel my favorite one in Montevideo so far. There is a lot more to like about that place. The service is outstanding, the breakfast great and the gym on the top floor offers a beautiful view of the city.
The hotel shows its age a bit but this did not bother me at all.

Run down hotel. AC in the room barely worked and was loud. Construction going on in the room upstairs with loud banging in the mornings and water leaking into the hallway. Smells like mold.

O Ar Condocionado Central de todos os quartos do quarto andar estava estragado e não conseguiram arrumar, apesar de nós garantirem no checkin que estaria consertado até o fim da tarde. Passamos 2 dias com 33° sem ar condicionado. Os banheiros da Recepção estão fechados para reforma. O banheiro masculino da academia está interditado por estar entupido há 2 dias. Os copos e xícaras da recepção estão todos usados e não trocam por limpos para se tomar água e café.

The hotel reception and dining room were very modern looking, however the room itself (we had a suite) was very dated and was not really set up for modern needs, e.g. there was only one accessible power socket in each room and it was located on the far side so phones had to be charged on the floor. The hotel itself was conveniently located close to the old town for historic sites and the wonderful port market.
