Island Magic is in a lovely location. It’s right on the waterfront and there is fantastic coral coming right up to the jetty. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Damien and Caroline are great hosts — very welcoming and helpful. They have great staff working with them too — always ready to help with a smile. The property is a little way out of town on a gravel road, so be ready for a bumpy ride for the last 5 mins or so. We were lucky to be welcomed in to expat drinks on Friday when we arrived, which was a lot of fun and an incredible way to pick up tips for the holiday to come. The only downside is a bit of bass coming from a nearby resort now and then, but that’s just part of island life!

Wonderful location, amazing coral reef on your doorstep with free gear to use. Caroline and Damian do an amazing job - they’re friendly and always so helpful as are the amazing staff with their big smiles! Birdies restaurant poolside was delicious, fresh and great servings.
For a family looking to keep the food budget under control I’d recommend stocking up on basics from the supermarket including a few local Tusker beers (hire a care or book a driver to get around). The comfortable and well appointed bungalows have a full kitchen so quick breakfasts, lunches/snacks etc are easy to prepare yourself.
Great Christmas for our family of 5 enjoying ‘island time’!

Room was great and had everything you need to be self sufficient and there’s a lovely restaurant as a better option! Staff were friendly and kind. The pool was well maintained and the ocean snorkelling from the property is amazing. Caroline and Damien were superstars helping to organise tours and transportation!

Vilas were clean and well fitted out with everything you need. Beautiful lication and amazing staff and the owners are lovely. Snorkelling is definitely the best in the island, only downside is be careful getting as not to tread in the fish as there are so many.

Absolutely amazing snorkelling straight off the wharf. We went in every day. Spacious apartments, easily fit a family of 4, and can ask for an extra bed for 5.

Loved the spacious bungalow accommodation with lots of amenities. Located right next to reef with great snorkelling opportunities. Caroline & Damien were very welcoming & are willing to help with booking excursions. Only set back - lack of transport on the remote roads so bring some food & snacks. Bungalows have kitchen facilities & BBQs are available. Food in the on-site Birdies Kitchen & Bar was very good.

Vanuatu is just opening up for business, all the staff keen to make our stay comfortable especially helping out with transport. Its not really easy walking distance to much. The 2 bedroom bungalow was super spacious and comfy, bit worn out but good beachy, salt sprayed, wind blown vibe.

Vanuatu is a poor country and sure, these bungalows are luxury, be it a bit run down. However, hospitality does not cost anything, and the way this place is run is unwelcoming and cheap. It has a negative and cold atmosphere. It did not spark joy.

Very mixed feelings about this 'Resort'...
Upon arrival, it was not what I expected based on photographs and the description on Expedia.
Photos were very misleading and cleverly done to hide the fact that the resort is not on an accessible beachfront, the only way into the water is down a ladder off a jetty - as the waterfront is untraversable rocks. You have to walk 25-30 minutes up the road to get to an accessible/sand beach area.
The swimming pool is very small compared to the size it appears to be in the photographs.
We were not aware that the only dining option is the one small restaurant on the resort. The next closest restaurant is 30 min walk away. However, the evening meals we had there were always very nice and of good quality. The same can not be said for the 'complimentary' breakfast.
It was nice to be away from Port Vila - by the water. It is quiet and peaceful.
The downside of this placement means you have to arrange a bus or taxi every time you want to go on a trip or leave the resort. Management will do this for you, but it obviously costs every time - and we didn't find it cheap.
The bungalow was spacious and well equipped if you wanted to cook for yourself - but a trip to get food meant a bus or taxi ride.
Based on the facilities on this property I think the word 'resort' is a bit misleading. it is a collection of 16 or so bungalows, in pleasant gardens with one small restaurant and a small swimming pool.
