The Fred - Adults Only

The location was great. While the swimming wasn’t sandy it was possible. The sunsets were amazing. The staff were all really friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay at The Fred! The room was on the smaller side, but perfectly comfortable for a couple. The hotel has a fun, vibrant vibe with great amenities. The pool area was really nice, and the view from the terrace was beautiful—especially around sunset. The bar is spacious and conveniently located right by the pool, which made it easy to relax with a drink in hand. One of the highlights of our stay was the excellent service from Kathiria—she was friendly, helpful, and truly made us feel welcome. The location is a big plus—it’s within walking distance to several restaurants and we were able to enjoy the 4th of July celebrations without needing a car. A solid choice for a fun, social getaway in St. Croix!

Avoid this hotel (and the town is not much better). My "pool view" room with a "balcony" was on the first floor with a view of the back of the office where I got to enjoy the staff's little dog barking for hours (till 10pm) and was woken up early in the morning with the loud radios, conversations and engine noise of delivery drivers on the street side of my room. Since the cruise ship was in port, the public areas had booming music in a failed attempt to attract cruise ship business - and a successful attempt to push me and other guests away. The staff was uncaring, but I write that off to them being more focused on the lack of phone service to the hotel as their phone rep was informing them that it might be weeks before the phone was reconnected. I travel extensively and, for the first time in my life, I got to experience a hotel that was bad enough that I canceled the remainder of my stay and booked a flight and hotel at another island. Yeah, it was worth $1,000 to get away from Fred... Highly disappointed. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Avoid The Fred and St Croix. There are far better options for your vacation money.

Every single person working at The Fred was absolutely AMAZING! They made our vacation so special! We will DEFINITELY be back!!

The Fred was in a beautiful spot on the island, the views are amazing from the Francis room and the restaurant/ bar area. not allot to do around that’s walkable . Pool and hot tub was great . Delia was very helpful before and during our stay. We didn’t eat here ,we stayed one night only.

I can't say enough about the staff at The Fred. From the moment we checked in the people were wonderful. Delia was a true Godsend. We had a few issues with our room and she promptly moved us to a different one. Heather the evening bartender was so special. I can't say enough about the whole staff. We truly enjoyed our stay!

First time visiting St.Croix and we wanted something a little different. The Fred was perfect for our long weekend girls trip. Everyone was exceptionally nice and very helpful. The small size of the property made it feel very private during the early part of the day. In fact if you are an early morning by the pool kind of a person this is a spot for you. The pool and whirlpool were clean and the perfect temperature. As there is a bar/resturant on site, it did seem to get a little rowdy on Friday night (great people watching). However, they have "quite" time starting at 10 and things did get quite around that time. We stayed in "the James." It had its own little balcony and a fantastic ocean view. My one and only irritation was the balcony was right next to a parking area and during various times of the day people played extremely loud music from their cars. It did add the the overall "vibe" of the trip... I personally just like taking naps in the afternoon. So if you want a little more quiet, I would opt for a different room. Overall would Love to come back and stay here again!!

The staff was amazing, super sweet and very kind. The hotel is super clean and the location is perfect.

We loved our stay. The staff & view was amazing! What we didn't like was the lack of communication. We requested an airport pickup and had to take a taxi. The swimming pool had been under renovations for 3 weeks and we weren't informed of its unavailability. Otherwise, it was exactly what we needed.

It is advertised as a quiet place... that is true after 10 p.m., at other times can be quite noisy, but that depends on whether they have some activities. Their restaurant is okay, plus there are a couple of better options next door. The hot tub wasn't hot most of the time. Nice views of sunset - unbeatable.

Bed was comfortable and the suite was very roomy. The restaurant was not very welcoming and it seemed like it was a bother so I ate elsewhere except for my final evening. I witnessed the same happen to another couple. Definitely good potential but improvements need to be made.

The staff was amazing and so friendly. Even though there were issues going on while i was there, they made it so accommodating that it didnt even bother me. Will be back for sure. Especially to St. Croix. Had the time of my life and the locals are great! Some of the nicest people i ever met!

Don’t waste your money. Upon arrive to the Fred in March 2025 we were told that the pool wasn’t functioning (it was disgusting green/brown water color), the kitchen wasn’t functional and they had an extremely limited menu, the room keys were non existent for the first half of the trip, the overall cleanliness of the property left a lot to be desired. All of issues with the pool, kitchen and keys were happening days before our trip and we got no heads up from management. We obviously would have stayed somewhere else if we had known the property was in this shape.

The overall property was nice since it was oceanfront but the pool was drained, the kitchen was under construction so it was a limited menu, and the key access was down so we had to have someone let us in our room for over half our stay. The best thing was the ocean and our bartenders Wendy, Heather and Chelsie.

I am still waiting for a refund. I checked out after the first night. I will take additional action to get my refund processed if necessary. I took multiple pictures including dangerous extension cords, rusted abandoned furniture and discarded wood pieces on a back patio, algae in the pool, etc. I want my refunded proceeded. It’s been over a week.

Horrible experience at the Fred. Upon arrival, was not given the room booked for 8 moths wit sea view a dbalcony,no explanation. Also lear ned that pool and jacuzzi were not working. Terribly disappointing. Service at bar was terrible, on first day it took 1.5 hours to get to drink. Unsettling experience with safety issues and lack of response from staff and security. Unacceptable. Food was very limited and not at all what was described and shown on website. Very deceptive. Beach was small, full of trash and very rocky. Would never return.

Property did not live up to the advertising. No breakfast available 2 of the 3 rooms rented had issues with water and mold.
