Property was central and in a great local, beds were comfy. Great stay!

The hotel is centrally located.It is very near some tourist attraction. Parking is at the other side of the property (shared with Scotia Square). It was accesible at first but the elevator going to the Square broke down during our last day and it was hard to transfer our luggage back to our car during check-out. The sauna was hidden in the girls’ bathroom and there was no sign where it is located. Pool is cold Over-all,the hotel was OKAY. It is old but functional. I got the hotel on a deal on Expedia. So, I got my money’s worth.

Great hotel! This was our second stay here and would definitely come back! Great location, walking distance to the waterfront, ferry, restaurants, shopping…. Great little pool and gym. Clean, safe and very friendly staff!

The staff were very helpful. We encounter a problem with our room and the front desk staff and manager were immediately on our case. They were able to find another room for us within 15 minutes. The housekeeping manager also followed up with us regarding our case as well! The housekeeping staff were also great, got all the cutlery and plates we needed when asked. The only thing I would suggest is maybe have some umbrella for guests to borrow. I asked twice on separate days, 1 time was told they didn't have any and to go next door to buy, while the other time the person at the front desk went to look and was able to find one (which helped tremendously since that day was down pouring). Unfortunately, I left the room in a hurry and forgot to drop a tip. I tried to search for the housekeeping staff after lunch but couldn't find anyone. The next time I go, I'll leave double since everyone at this property are of great help.

It was a convenient location. Pool was cold though!

Very clean and comfortable. Excellent location. Other reviews said it was dated but we found it charming. Would absolutely visit again.

Very last minute we needed to book in Halifax for two nights. Barrington was well priced, ideally located, and available! Rooms are a little dated but very clean. The little things that could have been better. - letting us know that there was no housekeeping and so therefore no coffee/creamer replaced - pool was very cloudy so we didn’t use it. Overall, great value.

This property surely needs an upgrade. Our room is very dated and feels unclean. The toilet was broken when we arrived but I was able to fix the handle. Then I noticed water on the floor - it is leaking water from the bottom. We almost burnt ourselves on our coffee as the coffee lids do not fit the cups at all. The convenience to the waterfront is amazing, but this hotel is due for a facelift.

Parking was a little distant, and then arrived and room was warm and smelled “old”. AC did not work, but staff quickly moved us to a new and slightly better room. This place is old, but decent if you can handle the lack of close parking. Good location for downtown Halifax though.

Best bang for your buck downtown halifax close to everything. Clean pool and has a sauna. No hot tub or room service is its only downfall imo
