A historic palace with service to match — and one small fix needed We stayed at the Alvear for a long weekend in Recoleta and it lived up to its reputation. The location is excellent: quiet, elegant, and within walking distance of the neighbourhood’s best restaurants and cafés, with easy access to the rest of the city. The building itself is a real treat — a historic palace, beautifully maintained, with the kind of detail and grandeur you rarely find in modern hotels. Staying there feels like part of the experience rather than just a place to sleep. The staff are consistently warm and attentive, and the concierge service deserves a special mention: it is genuinely a cut above. You can reach them easily by WhatsApp, which made everything effortless — we booked restaurants and theatre tickets well in advance without a single complication. Extremely convenient. My only criticism is a small one: the scrambled eggs at breakfast were poor — so much so that I couldn’t finish them on any morning. It’s a minor detail in an otherwise outstanding hotel, and an easy one to put right.

This is a gorgeous hotel with impeccable service. I would love to return. The beds and linens were elegant and comfortable. We had a beautiful bathroom with great water pressure.

Quarto limpo, tudo muito lindo

Great hotel, it is gorgeous! Rooms are beautiful and comfortable, public areas look like a palace, really beautiful. All the staff are doing their outmost to make you feel welcome. The concierge Julian and Esperanza, are exceptionally nice, but all of them were nice and polite. The only reason I gave 4 star your of 5 is the breakfast; was impressed with the breakfast buffet, and considering that it is not a big buffet, I find it very strange that apart of the scrambled eggs that are there, any other egg style you want, is an additional amount of money. I have never seen this before in any others hotels. I think they should change it. Because of that, I did not have the buffet, and on my second day, I decided not to have breakfast there at all. Hope to stay again, but will not have breakfast until they change this strange practice.

This is best hotel in Buenos Aires. Excellent location, near great sites, and truly special staff, it’s so classy and service is excellent all around! Rooms are beautiful! I highly recommend it!!

Impossível voltar a Buenos Aires e não ficar no Alvear !

Hotel muito distante do esperado. Após a décima viagem à Argentina decidimos pagar o valor elevado da fama do passado. Estrutura bem mantida, mas já decaída necessitando de investimentos. TV's antiquadas. Péssimo sinal de TV (em época de COPA). Colchões antigos e muito moles, como é de esperar desses lugares. Café da manhã muito aquém. Em todo o hotel existiam apenas 2 sucos (naranja e toranja) e quem não pode com acidez? Só bebeu água!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Menu nunca variou nos 4 dias. Limites em frutas. Nunca um presunto de qualidade. O Alvear novo de Puerto Madero é superior e mais barato! Mas, decepção é uma palavra leve para classificar! As comodidade? Para que serve uma piscina que fecha 18h? Uma academia que fecha 20h? Nunca conseguimos usar!

Hotel é muito imponente, bom gosto nos detalhes, serviço impecável, muito bom café da manhã mas senti falta de uma cafeteira de café expresso no quarto como o Art Alvear da mesma rede.

Achei que no quarto tem vários pontos de luzes que incomoda ao dormir
