Perfect location in a beautiful historic hotel. A bit of a smell on the room, but it was clean. Helpful staff but needed to follow up multiple times when we needed some extra linens for our room. Otherwise a great stay.

My wife and I spent a night here to celebrate our anniversary, and the Fairmont Empress did not disappoint. The property perfectly blends historic, classic charm with modern luxury. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable—the staff went above and beyond to make our stay feel special. Our room was spotless, incredibly comfortable, and beautifully appointed. A real highlight of the evening was visiting Q at the Empress; the cocktail menu, atmosphere, and service at Q Bar are exceptional and made our celebration feel even more exclusive. You truly can't beat the location right on the Inner Harbour. It was the perfect backdrop for a memorable anniversary getaway, and we will definitely be back.

I can't think of anything wrong with this hotel. Nice big room, comfortable bed. The staff are excellent - friendly and helpful. The breakfast was incredibly good. When I got to Vancouver I will stay here again.

The room was spotless, literally. The bathroom fixtures were shiny with NO water stains! The room was spacious and the bed was so comfy that I had to drag my wife out of bed - we were late checking out because she didn’t want to leave but the staff was very understanding. A friend suggested a hotel that was close but it was more expensive than the Empress, not as conveniently located a none of the old school charm. We went to the tea shoppe before our sitting for high tea and I loved that I was given a’cheat sheet’ to assist me and my wife in choosing our tea. I look forward to a return visit.

The Empress is a truly great hotel. The staff was amazing, the rooms were very nice - comfortable and clean, and the meals we had were delicious with amazing service. The location is perfect right in the middle of the city. All of the staff are so friendly all the time and willing to help you out and go the extra mile.

There is no downside to this hotel.

This beautiful, historical hotel is somewhere I have always wanted to stay, but found it fell short. I travel extensively and the Fairmont Embassy is not worth the price. What is offered in the room does not match the price and the hotel amenities are not available to all. It is a gorgeous building, save yourself the expense of a stay, instead enjoy a meal at the Q and stay somewhere else.

Exceptional service, staff and amenities with a great atmosphere.

The staff at the Fairmont Empress top-notch. Everyone we connected with over our four-night stay was warm and personable went out of their way to be of service. It is a beautiful hotel centrally located on the waterfront with excellent amenities (pool, gym, sauna, hot tub).

Gorgeous heritage hotel, family friendly

The staff were helpful and pleasant. The room itself was dated. We found the bathroom shower was very small It was hard to step into the tub to reach area of the shower head. We are seniors and appreciate space while showering for safety as well. We also noted the hot and cold water kept changing temperatures. When we mentioned this it was explained that the renovations of the rooms had been done on the higher floors first. We were on 14th floor. We asked the concierge about a good nearby restaurant for breakfast ( as there was a long lineup in the hotel). (Hardbean Brunch) and it was great!

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel, it was very clean and convenient in every way. We chose a room with a harbor view , the hotel staffs were really helpful and enthusiastic , the hotel has an excellent location, and the pool area was beautiful, clean, and safe for the kids. I have an autistic child but she absolutely loved the hotel and just wanted to stay at the hotel to enjoy the view and go swimming.
