Spectacular

I stayed just one night and left early the next morning but definitely would stay again for a longer trip!

A perfect stay, checkin was amazing and the room was beautiful.

We enjoyed learning the history of this hotel. Excellent views of the river and swans from the bar, breakfast had lots of choices, conveniently located in the town near shops and restaurants.

Car park was very small and chaotic with many cars driving around unable to park. There was no space designated to unload luggage which was a huge problem as I had my daughter and all of her bridal attire. Had it not been for a wonderful member of staff named Joy, we would’ve been clueless as to where to park and would have had a long walk with all our luggage. Thank you so much Joy, you were amazing, and you went above and beyond. I’m very grateful.

I couldn’t use the guy because it’s too small. I wasn’t informed the spa was different booking. I asked the cleaners to clean my room because I was going out but they did nothing

The hotel is wonderfully situated, rooms are nice and well designed. The breakfast was like a staff canteen, too much queuing due to a high volume of people stayibg, wet warm coffee without any flavour but very lovely staff who were run off their feet. Staff in the hotel were either doing multiple jobs or sat behind reception doing not alot. Our kettle didn’t work, when I called reception noone picked up, when I walked to refeption staff were helpful but the phone kept ringing.

The hotel is very nicely presented, art deco type of style to it. Restaurant staff friendly and helpful and food very good, highly recommend eating here. Our main issue was the total lack of hanging space in the room, no wardrobe or hooks to hang anything. We were attending a funeral & had nowhere to hang out suits. Bathroom also has no space to put washbags.

Front desk staff were lovely. The hotel itself is very nice, room was a bit run down - missing faucet handle bit, needing a little tlc overall. Sheets seemed clean but I found hair that wasn’t mine around the room. My biggest complaint though isn’t with the hotel itself but instead the restaurant within the hotel. No matter when I called or how many times, they never answered. Not once during my entire stay. Reception tried to connect me - no luck. When I went to the restaurant they told me they couldn’t do lattes or coffee to go although earlier people were taking hot drinks to go. They were out of gluten free toast although it’s on their menu as something available daily. Room service was a big let down. Other people seemed to have the same issue.

Fabulous breakfast, lots of options. Very friendly staff; helpful and chatty. Bar is nice with nice atmosphere. Gym was small but had a range of machines and also free weights. Spa small but enough to do for 2 hours. Whole ambience of the hotel was delightful and I’ll definitely return. Highly recommended

The hotel overall is excellent, clean and the decor is beautiful. However, there are two minor issues that hold it back. Firstly, not being able to change the temperature in the room was a problem for me, as it was too hot on both nights I stayed in the room. Secondly, I do not know what was going on in the restaurant on Saturday night but it was chaos. There were three tables around me, and myself, and all four orders were wrong. It also seemed a little like some serving staff were trying to avoid eye contact with customers and were cleaning tables rather than serving guests. Friday night, however, was excellent service in the restaurant and the server was attentive and asked how my meal was, etc. Finally, the automated checkin - it is okay, but after I leave checkin, how am I supposed to know what my room number is? I was only offered the card, nothing with the room number on and I had to get a member of the chamber staff to find out my room number for me. Still, it was otherwise good, I'd stay again, and the breakfast was very good.

We stayed here before but things gone downhill. The breakfast was not that hot. We had a AV car. Non EV cars were parked in the Charging points. The staff said they could match registration numbers to guests. I asked them to put a note on their windscreen. Nothing done. Very annoying. No mirror in dressing table. Small attentions to details gone x. Staff were on the surface great x

Decor was beautiful, room and bathroom clean and really nice. Staff was ok.

Staff were very polite & friendly. The room was beautiful and clean. For the breakfast buffet, a non pork meat option such as beef sausages or turkey rashers etc would be very ideal.

advertised as a spa hotel but spa is not part of hotel facilities. very small and u have to pay. Also fully booked up so not avaliable to guests. this needs to be advertised cirrectly in advert. expensive enough but not justified for small upgrade room and no use of spa

Great customer service by Holly at the front desk upon check in. Clean room, great breakfast, and very peaceful. Definitely recommend!

Highly recommend this hotel.

Friendly staff at check in and great room. No issues. Photos are accurate. Great to have free parking on site. My only very small point for improvement would be to have more options for the cooked breakfast as it is either a fry up or vegetarian fry up. There was also a bit of a delay in the breakfast order being taken and then arriving as it is not self-serve. For non-business guests this is unlikely to be an issue, but if staying for work then allocate around 25-30 minutes for breakfast if you would like a hot breakfast.
