We have stayed at this hotel many times but not for about 3/4 years. We couldn’t believe how run down it has become. The whole place needs to be refurbished. Our sink in the bathroom had a crack in it, carpet had red stains on it. The doors in corridor were all scratched and the carpet was dirty. The chairs we sat in for breakfast were all peeling, although some of them had been replaced. Even the food was not upto much. Got told we would have to wait quite a while for the sausages as none cooked, they had run out!! Very disappointing stay all round. Won’t be going back there until it’s been refurbished. It’s such a shame as it’s in a great location for walking, shops and bird watching.

The problems 1 having paid extra for room with a view of the harbour this was completely destroyed by the view if the adjacent flat roof broken tiles and multiple AC units. 2. No Ac unit in this room Windows that effectively didn’t open ( 1/4 in only) Late afternoon sun And someone had left the heated towel rail on Also a winter weight 10.5 tog quilt on the bed. No sheets So obviously the room never cooled down. Having 3 noisy fans was just an indication if problems and were of minimal help

Excellent overall condition

Hotel very dated and could do with updating. Food and drink ok but very expensive.

Hair in the bath,dirty window and mirror in the room,shower was not great,dirty carpet,stained bedding.

This hotel has got so much potential it is scary. The staff, location and facilities are excellent. If there were a few tweaks made, for example, maintenance, because in fairness the place could need a lick of paint. One thing you cannot take away are the views…. PLEASE GET AIR CON IN THE ROOMS!!!!

Decor is tired, carpets have holes, room is dated, very hot, can’t turn off towel rails,room not cleaned, dirty glasses, old rubbish in draws. Bar is expensive restaurant is basic food, dirty dog eared old menus….

Great location with a good views and plenty of parking. Good buffet breakfast with good variety of hot and cold options. Room ok although it had a strange damp smell. Plenty of hot water. Overall I think good value for south coast location.

Stayed in room 46, was very comfy, nice bed and pillows, Dyson fan which was most appreciated. Room was quite noisy with the staff banging around with trolleys early doors but luckily we needed to be up. Breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and plentiful. Nice bar. Pool area needs a loo it of love and attention, cold jacuzzi and steam room wasn't steamy at all. But nice setting on the top of Hayling Island, lovely bar over the bridge too The Ship Inn, watched the F1 and world cup there, nice food. Would stay again

Excellent food and more than enough parking even with a fishing event on with cars coming and going. Room was of a good size and 2 chairs to sit on (often only one with other hotels) and what the room lacked in air-con was more than made up for with Dyson Airflow fans plus a pedestal fan

Convenient as had a function to attend near by. Room and restaurant OK but rather tired! Some refurbishment required.

Place lacks refuse bins so difficult to dispose of rubbish other than in rooms. Taps/shower heads could do with refurb/limescale removal. Restaurant has improved a lot since last year.

Just a bit tired as a hotel

Sadly the hotel did not meet our expectations. The first room we were allocated had mold round the windows and in the bathroom and it smelt funny. The staff were very good and gave us a new room but it still wasn't great. It is possible that we were just in the old part of the hotel - if so, avoid low number rooms. Breakfast was good and location nice.

2 nights here with my 81 year old mum . Pleasant hotel. Looks a bit tired. Dome areas a bit tatty Staff all very friendly and helpful . Especially breakfast ladies . We had a pleasant stay

Two night stay at the hotel and I’m grateful it wasn’t for longer. The room was in poor condition. There were visible stains on the carpet and furniture, bedside lamps without bulbs, and the overall cleanliness was well below what you would expect. The towels and bathmat were dirty and soiled, and the shower curtain was filthy, which is completely unacceptable. Basic amenities were also lacking. There was no bottled water, no toilet roll, and the toiletries were not filled up. There was also not enough milk or tea for two guests over a two-night stay. These are standard provisions and should not need to be requested. I raised concerns with reception after waiting in a long queue of other complaining guests, but nothing was resolved. I was later told these issues had not been logged, which is not my responsibility. There is no air conditioning, which made the room extremely uncomfortable in warm weather. The EV chargers in the car park were also not available to use. The hotel does not reflect its marketing. The images online are misleading compared to the actual condition. Breakfast was very busy with long waits, and food was slow to be replenished. Overall, very disappointing. Management response was poor and I would not return. I have pursued a refund through my bank.

This hotel is in need of some attention, carpets are worn, decor is tatty. No air con in rooms. Asked reception for a fan, was told there was one in my room already by a receptionist who was clearly having a bad day and was completely uninterested in helping. When we finally got a fan is was virtually useless. EV chargers for car were out of order. The only redeeming feature was breakfast.

Amazing! Love this hotel!! Breakfast was included and was really nice! Perfect location. Friendly staff. Loved it
