Had a terrible nights sleep because of the pillows- they were awful

good location and easy to find. lots of parking space, a short walk across to the shops in the service station, or a short drive to the asda nearby.

Other than the [false] fire alarm @ 1am [a one-off, I'm sure] and the noise from the corridor fire door adjacent to the room, all else was well and the staff were very friendly and helpful

Very basic but cleanliness wasn't great. Convenient location. Uncomfortable beds. Fire alarm went off middle of night - understand this cannot always be helped when a false alarm however the situation poorly managed, no staff around to assist or indicate what to do. No apology etc.

Given a room that on opening door found it was already occupied. They did give me another room immediately though. Towels smelt strange - musty.

I honestly don’t know how to review our stay. If you were to ask me if I had a good nights sleep my answer would have to be a resounding NO… however this was not the fault of the hotel. As a budget hotel, check in was smooth and handled professionally and courteously. The room was immaculately clean, as was the bathroom. The fitting were worn but not uncomfortable or damaged. The hotel corridors were cool but the room was super toasty and warm ( almost too warm). My issue came with other customers behaviours. People returning from nights out and shouting and running up and down corridors, followed by another series of confrontations and what sounded like the police being called and someone being taken away. So a very disturbed night, and no one to talk to in the morning about our stay. Would I stay here again… yes I would give it another go and hope that other people using the hotel would be more considerate than those using it last night.

Value for money

Unusually for this hotel, the beds in room 104 are very hard. Not divan beds. These have wooden slatted bases. Not enough pillows. First time I've not had a particularly comfortable night. Tea tray not properly replenished before we arrived but this was quickly rectified

Booked a double bed and was told on arrival that only twin rooms were available, wasn’t expecting much for the price but it was pretty tired

Showers are cold

Good staff No power from shower in 119. Not had that before. Overall this is normally value fir money but today nit so good

Clean room with comfortable bed.

Positives are location by motorway exit and services. Room generally clean with comfy. Some cleaning areas were missed. Furniture and fitting very dated and mark. Staff friendly but very little information was provided at check in automatically. Had to ask for this.
