Great little hotel with a classic British ambiance

We booked the spa and hotel stay package directly with the hotel for my partner's birthday and we absolutely loved it and had a great time! Big thanks to Lily at the spa for an amazing facial, great chat and advice as to which products I should be using to keep my skin smooth and fresh. Thank you also Emily for a lovely check in experience, she was very calm and friendly and made us feel properly welcomed at the hotel. Thank you!

Was shocked to find that the pool is booked for an exercise class from 08:00 to 08:45. Nobody mentioned this. No instructions on how to use room heater or Towel rail.

Was very happy staying here for 2 nights every think was satisfactory.

Staff were okay. No enthusiasm or whatsoever and just literally gave us the welcome paper and that's it. Restaurant staff were slightly better as they were a bit more welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was basic and dry. We wanted to swim and use the pool with our baby but weren't allowed as they told us that there's only a time allowed for babies, however this wasn't explained to us upon checking in and a bit of consideration and 'hospitality' could go a long way as we requested that even a quick lounge would really be appreciated but nothing. Again, dry communication.

Clean room, the gym and spa facilities are 5*

Reception was lovely, friendly and informative. All was good but far stairwell was very smelly and filthy carpets.

Selection at breakfast could be improved. More staff at checkin at peak times, (4pm-7pm) to avoid lengthy wait times. Reception staff actually be sorry for keeping you waiting. Rooms good and clean. Evening food menu very limited. Dedicated bus parking, rather than just parking them outside the front blocking the hotel entrance.

Nice big room, very comfortable bed. We made use of the pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The pool was busy between 3-4pm with children's lessons. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel sits a good few miles from Cambridge but the road links are pretty good. Hotel is clean and tidy and staff I spoke to were helpful. Room was an upgraded one so more expensive of course but the added space was useful. The breakfast was at best average. Hot food wasn’t very hot and was greasy, cold or overcooked. The staff appeared overwhelmed and as a result people were queuing constantly for everything from coffee to food items as well as simply to sit down. Gym is a good size and pool area is fine although it was closed due to a fault for part of one of the days. Overall I was left a bit disappointed but it was OK.

Excellent stay. Room was very comfortable and clean. Used the gym which was ideal. Bar was a bit chaotic and it seemed some staff were new or inexperienced but generally good. Restaurant food was excellent.

Wonderful staff

Food menu on website did not match reality. The prices had also changed, in some cases more than 10% Lots of new staff who were not knowledable, helpful or some were not even very polite. Service in the Restaurant was very poor. Long wait times. Eventually got a table, but then sat waiting for a menu and then to order. The menu now on offered is a lot worse than previous menu.

Modern functional hotel set on a new housing estate. Clean comfortable rooms, high levels of cleanliness, dinner in the restaurant was good. Didn't try the spa so unable to comment.

Nice hotel in a convenient location, my only complaint was that the room was cold and when I asked about it I was told the heating doesn’t come on until 6pm. Unfortunately the heating didn’t seem to come on at any time of dayl, We visited early April.
