Only criticism was that my room 43 was extremely hot. Otherwise Everything else great. Staff were particularly friendly and helpful 🙂

Pros: Room was clean and well presented, shower pressure was very good with plenty of hot water Cons: Room was small, only room for one person in en suite. Bed so uncomfortable that we both woke up with bad backs. Parked in overflow car park late at night, no lighting from there to reception which could be daunting for the elderly or single women.

Friendly staff. Comfy bed. Only complaints, bathroom door didn’t lock, and food was expensive. Would happily stay again.

A lovely hotel to stay in. Clean, the staff were very obliging and the food was really good.

The room was clean and tidy and very warm. The young receptionist was very friendly with lovely eyebrows.Evening staff in restant were extremely friendly especially the very pretty blond who was on both evenings. Breakfast older staff not so friendly.looked like they didn't want to be there and no smiles at all. 2nd receptionust. Very friendly woman too.overall excellent service.

Does what it says on the tin… comfortable and clean, spacious room, some areas need some TLC, but overall good value for money will stay again

The staff were really helpful and friendly, which made the place itself very welcoming. The location and outside of the building was very pretty, I could see why people would stay here for the location, and the grounds are very well maintained. The hotel itself is clean and looked after, but it's very lost in time and needs some upkeep. T

The staff were all lovely, accomodating, great Customer Service. Housekeeping people were so hard working. Room was immaculate. Thank you for a pleasant stay!

Conveniently placed close to the Peak District. Hotel looking a little tired, in need of a makeover. Friendly staff.

Decor and bathroom needs updating. Beds comfortable. Already commented on shortages in bar. Staff very friendly.

Recently enjoyed a 2nt stay for a family wedding. The staff are simply the best - across the board from the reception, restaurant team, bar staff, function 'master of ceremony' - even the housekeeping team, could not have been more friendly, professional, helpful, courteous and keen to go above and beyond the make ours and the rest of the guests stay a thoroughly excellent experience. Without being seen or heard, the back of house team knocked it out of the park because their efforts enabled everything to play out seamlessly at front of house - well done all of you! Particular shout out to Katti who looked after us at breakfast and could not have been more helpful. Yes, the rooms are a little dated but were clean, comfortable and gave all the expected facilities (tea/coffee/biscuits etc. TV, hairdryer, iron, very comfortable bed, bath /shower, toiletries & good towels). If you're wanting 5*, spend 3x more and go elsewhere but this place gave everything we could need at a very affordable price. We had an absolute ball and look forward to the next opportunity to stay here again.

Hotel is very dated and in need of a serious revamp. The electrical sockets with multiple adapters were very concerning and the bedroom windows! Some of the staff were very friendly but others not so. Parking was a nightmare as our two night stay clashed with a party and a wedding; parking down a big hill not perfect!

Tub was moldy, room was dank and had ripped carpet. Everything in room and hallways needed updating and repair. Dining room and breakfast were nice.

Some of the windows had seen better days but the renewal looks to be in progress, staff were outstanding, nothing too much trouble

A lovely weekend break. Amazing suite. Staff welcoming and knowledgable. Buffet breakfast with an great choice.

Room was clean, however shower head wasn’t working and I informed the staff first day, they said they’ll look into it but nothing happened. 5 days taking baths was very inconvenient and staff didn’t resolve it.

Everything excellent. Will use this hotel again when in the area.

Great location, good service the from restaurant. Great sized room and close to a few of the walking trails.
