Penilaian & Ulasan Keseluruhan Holiday Inn Express & Suites PITTSBURGH-SOUTH SIDE, an IHG Hotel

Unfortunately our stay was very disappointing. I selected this property because they advertise a free hot breakfast in the morning and a pool. Both were closed during our stay. Also the fitness center is closed. When i went to the elevator bank it smells so strongly of curry it gave me a headache and wafted through the hallways. Upon entering the room it was musty. The furniture had big stained spots all over each piece. (Couch,Ottoman,Chair) Old tv and mostly static. The bathroom was clean as possible considering the wallpaper is bubbling and coming off the wall. Many cosmetic defects in showee area as well as water damage. All in all a disappointing stay. Ill never stay at this location again. If looking for a great downtown hotel checkout Hampton Inn by Heinz Museum its great! **Tried to upload photos wouldnt let me**

The entire stay was absolutely terrible! The front desk staff couldn’t even muster a smile, was very crude and disrespectful, and made us feel like we were an inconvenience. The entire hotel was under construction and most of the facilities that drew us to the hotel were not available and we didn’t find out until we checked in. The entire lobby and our hall just off of the lobby smelled like pot. When we brought it to the attention of the front desk she just came through with air freshener and sprayed it around. Not only did it not eliminate the smell, but it made for an even more putrid odor when mixed with the pot smell. Our room end up smelling like the lobby and hall simply because we opened our door to enter our room. The room itself was filthy too. The floors were not swept, there was garbage in our garage can, and the bathroom wasn’t scrubbed. I saw hair in the bottom of the tub and, when I used my hand to try and wipe it out, I ended up with a white powdery substance that was very gritty covering my entire palm. The clear shelves that held our bath towels had splotches of a white dried on substance. The smoke detectors were removed from the bathroom and bedroom and the silver brackets and holes remained where they once were. The hotel was under construction and the men who were working there would prop the security doors open so they could continue to go in and out without having to bother with a key card which defeats the purpose of a security door to begin with.

The staff were amazing

There was no mention of an abbreviated breakfast or of a charge for parking. I was woken by workers in the morning.

Dirty bathroom

The 6th floor was recently remolded, so very attractive. Unfortunately, the walkthru following construction doesn't appear complete: I couldn't draw curtains over entire window and there's lots of light in the area; the refrigerator rocked when opened; the shower took quite some time to become warm; the staff when checking out were not nearly as friendly as the women when checking in.

Room was decent

Enjoyed a clean comfortable stay. Not the best location, busy intersection and commercial part of town.

So there are a few things terribly wrong.#1 they are under renovations and wasn't aware. They charge $22 just to park in their own parking lot! #2 they charge you $100 for incidentals and since I used my Venmo card I won't get my money back for 30-60!!! #3 due to the renovation's there's NO pool, NO exercise room and the breakfast room is now crammed into the lobby. I will NEVER stay here or another holiday inn.

It was so bad I didn’t stay

Was in town for an event at the P&G arena. Great location for event as we walked the bridge to and from. Only issue was lots of road work around hotel which made getting into the hotel parking a challenge.

Room smelt like pee and chlorine, bathroom was dirty halfway cleaned. None of the amenities were available. Got my refund asap I couldn’t stay in the room.

The web site stated some construction but all amenities, pool,, exercise room and breakfast area are shut down with no notification.

The breakfast was almost non-existent and the room was too hot with no thermostat in the room. Staff was very friendly though

Property manager was so nice I loved her so much desk clerks was very nice as well my sheets was so dirty that I had to take them off well the sheets were so I slept with the blanket which wasn’t that clean neither good thing we came with our own property is under renovation which is so weird there is so many Mexican men runni g around the hotel with doors opens so much noise property manager gave me a wonderful discount but I tho k I’ll go back after renovations are done

The hotel was/is undergoing renovations. Would've been nice to know this before booking. While some rooms were renovated, mine was not. Extra bleu cheese mod in the showerheads. Damp carpeting. Poor A/C. Very noisy, as the main drag was in front of the hotel. Staff was great and while they all were apologetic, apologies shouldn't be part of any hotel visit.

We arrived about an hour before check in and was told to come back at 4pm. We tried to time the drive in, but we were coming from far away and it would have been nice to check in a little early. This is the first time I have been denied checking in a little early. Once we came back to the hotel we found the our bathroom had not been cleaned. A hanging towel and small used face cloths in the tub were found. Also venting in this hotel for the bathroom is not great. There was a fair amount of mold detected around the tub and the cloth shower curtain smelled. The staff was very friendly and cleaned the room for us. I might look else where for my next visit to Pittsburgh.
