This was our first trip to Zurich so we had no idea if the Alma would be a good choice or not. But we were so glad we selected it! The staff was exceptionally friendly, everyone spoke fluent English, and everyone worked to ensure our comfort. There were a couple of service errors (a houekeeper who had a little trouble with managing the details, and one breakfast that felt like we were getting the lefovers of other guests), but in both instances, the front desk team sprung into action to make things right when I reported the concerns. The hotel is a good walk to the HB, or a quick walk to the tram station, if you feel like riding. There are some good Italian restaurants, a small bakery, and a delicious gelato shop in the immediate area as well. Of course, having beautiful Lake Zurich nearby was a bonus! Even our departure was wonderful, with Bernadette putting together a breakfast bag for us when we had to leave in the early a.m. for our flight home. The hotel isn't luxurious, but what it lacks in fanciness, it makes up for in kindness, coziness, and warmth.

Beautiful place to stay, easy access to the lake and only a 20 minute walk in to town. Staff were amazing 😁.

Sense of calm

I loved staying at Alma. I was a bit skeptical at the time of the booking because some reviews and the pictures don’t do justice to this beautiful place at all. The place is clean, well decorated, the room is spacious, the breakfast was top of the line, the staff is friendly, the location is prime. Very close to the lake and just 15 min walk to the old town, a bit more, the train station. They wrote a cute note and offered us a bottle of sparkling wine for New Years Eve. We watched the fireworks from their 360 view rooftop. Perfection all around. I will DEFINITELY go again and stay right at Alma when I return to Zurich.

Nice hotel, priced reasonably and with very engaging staff. The hotel is well located in a quiet street.

Very nice start to our vacation!

Mein Einzelzimmer war zum Hinterhof und deshalb sehr ruhig gelegen. Gutes Bett, kleines Bad. Sehr angenehmes Haus mit schönem Ambiente. Gute Straßenbahnanbindung zum Bahnhof. Frühstück war gut, jedoch gibt es keine frischen Eierspeisen. Dafür sehr leckeres Müsli. Sehr gefallen hat mir, dass es auch tagsüber Wasser/Tee/Kaffee im Aufenthaltsraum zur freien Entnahme gibt. Das ist im teuren Zürich ein großes Plus.

Beautiful property in a great are of Zurich close to the lake and many great restaurants. Very easy to get around using the tram and close to the main station. Lovely rooms and shared spaces, and so nice to have the outdoor space too. Staff were incredibly helpful. Fully recommend!

Das Hotel war wirklich gut. Einziger Mangel ist das überteuerte Frühstück mit 29 CHF. Hier gab es nicht mal Wurst- oder Fleischwaren. Da hätte ich mir schon was anderes vorgestellt. Höchstens 9 CHF wert.

All facilities were excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. The roof top terrace was a great place to spend the evening.

Just a short walk to the lake and all the great food and shopping options on Seefeldstrasse. Ristorante Almalfi across the street is a big plus!

Amazing property. No air con in the rooms.

Recently renovated. Historic house limits in room amenities but they make up for it with some extras. 24 hr complimentary coffee and tea downstairs. Guest kitchen for those who want to eat in or store snacks. Pleasant decor. Fan provided in lieu of AC. Quiet area. Rooftop terrace. Rose garden with tables in back. Short walk to shoreline park on lake Zurich. 5 minute walk to trams direct to Bahnhof, grocery stores. Bathroom was small. There is an elevator, but raised threshold at room door and to bathroom may hinder mobility impaired folks. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Excellent location in the heart of Zurich, a stoneʻs throw from a charming walk along the lake where so many Zurchers love to gather, and restaurants and cafes galore nearby.
