We had a great stay here during our one night in Iceland, reception was very friendly and the rooms and common spaces were nice. Location was also convenient for walking around Reykjavik, would recommend.

Perfection! Economical, clean, quiet, and short walk (10 min) to BSI bus station to catch Flybus airport shuttle, Golden Circle Tour bus, and transfer to Blue Lagoon. Maybe a 20 min walk to downtown. Reception staff were kind and helpful. It was nice to cook our basic meals in the communal kitchen.

Great affordable place to stay in Reykjavik, close to the National Museum and the center of town. Lively, colorful atmosphere, great rooms.

Praises and accolades to the friendly, helpful staff at the student hostel. The facilities were excellent and the location ideal for walking into town. There was free parking in the adjacent lot, which made it a perfect base for the many day trips we took in Iceland. Highly recommended!

We enoyed our stay.

I enjoyed my stay at the Student Hostel. With a shared kitchen it's of course always a bit hit and miss, some people are tidy, others leave it for the next one to tidy after them.... The only thing I would criticise is the cleanliness of my bathroom. The floor and even the wall in the shower were covered in thick, black, medium length hair! That's a bit disgusting, right? Other than that, everything was fine. And I slept very well.

Very well furnished hostel, great style and great location: close to BSI and the city center. Only one thing was a bit disturbing: the room door shakes every time another doors shuts me you can here any door closing. Maybe a door closer for the main doors could help… Thanks a lot!

Hyvä hostelli, ihanteellinen sijainti 7-10 minuutin kävelymatkan päässä - BSI (linja-autoasema, josta melkein kaikki lennot). Ja aivan hostellin vieressä on joukkoliikenteen pysäkki. Huoneet ovat melko siistejä, ainoa ongelma on lattia. Siksi suosittelen tossujen käyttöä. Henkilökunta on ystävällistä ja valmis auttamaan kaikessa. Yksin / kaverin tai parin kanssa matkustamiseen (jos hostellissa on parivuoteet, tietysti). Siellä on keittiö, siinä on kaikki mitä tarvitset. WC:t ja suihkut jaetaan kerroksessa, mutta erillään sukupuolen mukaan.

Walking distance to main bus terminal and down town

It's a very small room, but Iceland is expensive and this is a great deal for the price. The bathroom on our floor was clean and provided shampoo and soap. It's a 10-minute walk from old town city central, which is fabulous. Extremely safe area. The front desk staff were kind, friendly, and super helpful. There is a laundry room in the building (they give you free laundry detergent and let you use the machines for free -- literally, I'm not kidding), and they have lockers you can rent for very cheap to hold your valuables. Parking is free and close by (it's part of a university campus, and the overflow lot is a 3-minute walk). Overall, a very terrific and affordable option.

Very simple room with shared bathroom, dated but clean. Expensive for what it offers, like most accommodation in Reykjavik. Checkin/checkout was efficient but the least friendly I experienced in Iceland. It was fine for me for 1 night and I did discover a fantastic bakery for breakfast a couple of blocks west of the university, near a swimming pool.

A walking path to the foot bridge to cross over to the other side where there is a subway/gas station. A cross walk to the park and past it to the church. We had a private bathroom room. Clean. They let us borrow an USB outlet plug since we did not have europlugs chargers. They provide a city map, called a cab for us, nice laundry room, and answered our questions the best they could. I recommend the Student Hostel. Thank you

The room was modern and clean. The bathroom had excellent water pressure and was comfortable. .

So happy that we chose to stay at the student hostel. I highly recommend this place. Clean and comfortable rooms. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Loved the separate common area for hanging out in. Super convenient to downtown and the bus terminal. They even have large storage lockers for rent. I would definitely stay at the student hostel, again.
