Nice hotel. Cheap and cheerful. WiFi was naff and no air con but lovely staff.

The property is very old (16th century)and full of character. Each and every member of staff that we met during our 2 day stay were very friendly, attentive and welcoming. The food was great.

Great place to stay as we stay here every time we’re up there and the staff are very accommodating and looked after us.

It was good but bed was to soft

Friday evening there were a few dishes unavailable from menu which was disappointing.

I didn’t catch her name but the young lady who is assistant manager… what a job she does! She looked after reception, was the main waitress, also serving behind the bar. And no one was left waiting whatsoever and all on a night that the hotel was fully booked. Tremendous job!

The room was clean and warm, the decor did not compliment the age and character of the property, booked for two nights and went down for breakfast in the second day and could not find any staff and the breakfast room was looked so had to go to Diss for breakfast !!!

An ideal base geographically for chosen sight seeing locations along with meeting up with friends. Disappointed that the room was not within the original 17 century building with so much character. I was allocated a ground floor room in a relatively new block at the rear of the property. The room did not really have any wow factor and I got the feeling that these are the rooms provided to workmen during the week. The pop up plug in the sink was missing and the bath plug did'nt fit. There was a hot iron mark on the carpet. Returning from a day out on the second day the door to the room was found wide open. This was addressed with the receptionist who apologized on behalf of the management (whom I never saw), fortunately nothing appeared to be missing. The bar service was good and the staff in general were very friendly. The hot food served was adequate.

It’s really frustrating as it’s a beautiful property and the front of house staff were lovely. However, the housekeeping need to do a better job with the rooms as they were not well maintained or the cleanest. The kitchen staff barely coped with 12 covers and the food servers didn’t match the description on the menu, nor were the food products used fresh. Extremely disappointing considering the price tag. The heating turned off halfway through the night and our room was freezing. Additionally, the breakfast took far too long and was very basic. Management really need to invest some time and money into the place, especially the dining area as it is dated and tired looking. Despite being a beautiful location/building l would not stay again as I was that disappointed. Once again I would like to highlight, the front of house staff were incredible, the kitchen staff however… either need sacking or retraining.

Very quaint hotel

Nice period hotel, with lots of period features, very comfortable in a quiet location with plenty of off street parking. Great friendly staff. Nice bar with plenty of choice of food & drinks. Will certainly use again.

It is unique. Like going back in time but with all the luxury of times gone by.

This place looks special Thought I was booking a hotel room but standard rooms are located outside in a courtyard . tiny room Restaurant was closed Lack of atomosphere Asked if dining as food was closing early Decided to go to pub over the road who made us feel more welcome

We had free breakfast in our booking but didn’t receive it we had to pay , I checked my email when we got home and it’s says free breakfast so we paid over what we should of
