No longer a 5 star destination, sadly. My husband and I returned to the hotel ( after many years) to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We had got engaged at this hotel many years ago and wanted to return, having absolutely loved the hotel and the wonderful memories they provided for us. The hotel itself has changed- nothing in the mini bar, no evening turn down service, food options are severely limited now; no breakfast buffet ( other than at weekends and even then, meager in its offering), very small in room dining menu and very few pool side choices. We booked the main restaurant ( twice in writing and once in person) for my husband’s birthday, hoping to sit at the same table where we got engaged. They did not appear to even have our booking and no birthday greeting was given. No cake was made ( as requested, twice, in writing) and we were led to a table inside the restaurant only after refusing to be seated on the patio where everyone without a booking was seated. I was so very upset as we have stayed at Ritz Carlton hotels all over the world for more than 20 years. Their reputation is built upon ‘Ladies and Gentlemen serving Ladies and Gentlemen’. I requested to see the GM the next morning and was told he was unavailable. Another member of the management team, Connor, met with me and was very apologetic. He did everything he could to listen and make up for what happened, but the damage had been done. The GM has still not reached out to me. What incredibly poor service!

Property is amazing and the pool is awesome. A little pricey, but we were prepared for that. One drawback was that you dont get the Marriott nights credit if you order through Orbitz and not directly with the property

Awesome experience

Went for a week. Grass is brown. Food has no seasoning. Customer service is horrible. It shows there’s a Hertz rental on location when you arrive there’s a luxury rental Company that charges 200$ a day for a regular car. Drinks are horrible. All restaurants lack seasoning extremely. When I told the servers they said that’s not how it’s supposed to be. I ordered garlic chili edamame. Nothing. Bland. I told the server his response was “it’s not supposed to be spicy” do not go here. Very very bad.

5-star service at a 5-star hotel. Outstanding. We will not hesitate to return again. Magnificent experience. They delivered beyond expectations. Thanks, Ritz-Carlton Kapalua! Well done.

First time staying at this property, although I have stayed at many Ritz Carltons around the world.. We arrived so excited and ready to love it. Unfortunately this hotel falls short in so many ways. It is a Ritz Carlton by name only. The property itself is nice, although the rooms are dated. Location is good for a more secluded vacation. The pool area looks great, absolutely loved that it's accessible day and night. And this is about where the good ends. The service in this property is awful. Quite literally, awful. It's not set up to allow for a relaxing vacation at all. The property features a small beach (not private), which the hotel staff will happily kick you off sunbeds/towels at 3:45pm/4pm - the end of their day. In the Lobby lounge, getting food/beverage service is a challenge unless sat at the bar. One server was incredibly rude. Around the pool, food/beverage service was not good at all. The food itself is really mediocre at best. For the price tag they charge - eat else where. There's plenty of better options locally, you'll just need a car/uber to get to them. One evening, we came back to see house keeping had missed making up our room. Not a problem normally in a 5 star hotel, I made a quick call down request turndown/someone to stop by and to my surprise I was told there was no house keeping staff available in the evenings and that all they could do was for me to collect some fresh towels from the front desk. In short, save yourself the $ - go elsewhere.

I really liked the location of the property. However, I didn’t enjoy the beach as it was very windy and not suitable for swimming with my toddler. The windy conditions could be better managed in the pool areas. The jacuzzis tended to get very crowded in the evenings, mostly with solo visitors and intoxicated individuals, making it uncomfortable to enjoy with my wife. Additionally, I felt pressured by the restaurant staff to leave tips. When I didn’t tip, they refused to serve me. One server from the lobby lounge, named Susan, even confronted me demanding at least a 20% tip for bringing only two cocktails, explaining that the hotel doesn’t pay her hourly. This experience really ruined my mood. Lastly, I found the restaurants to be overpriced.

Bhe beach was easy to walk to, very nice, felt private to resort guests, and not crowded. The food and drink options were high quality, delicious, and competitively priced with outside restaurants. The grounds were large and pleasant to walk around. There was paved costal trail access to walk or run as far as you'd like. It is a very convenient driving distance to Napili bay, Honolua bay, and Kaanapali beaches. Great products on-site provided a convient shopping experience.

We had a wonderful experience, but prices and fees were extremely high. Restaurant dining is excessively expensive, and we were charged $120 daily for “hotel fees” and “valet parking” on top of the high price for the hotel lodging itself. This is something they don’t communicate in advance, which seems wrong. Hotel will also charge a $200/night deposit upon checking in, which they also do not communicate in advance.

This hotel was so damn boring. They close the bar at 9am. Dining closes at 10pm. U can’t even get an uber anywhere. If you’re not 50+ do not come here there is literally nothing to do.

Staff was helpful and very friendly! We got a great welcome! Would definitely stay here again.

The property is beautiful and well maintained. The location is great with lots of activities around. However we were not impressed with the quality of service we received. House keeping never showed up for room cleaning unless we called to ask for service. There was only one restaurant we enjoyed the food at and that was Banyan. The lobby bar was ok but we didn’t really like the sushi , was not as fresh as expected. The front desk rarely had more than one person working so there was always a line for any inquiries and needs we had. Overall I wouldn’t stay again.

Absolutely gorgeous property, amazing main lobby, love the pools, love the beach, love the room! Team is very nice and provided us with a bottle of champagne and snack tray for our honeymoon! Less dining options than some other resorts, but ate multiple times at the terrace and had great meals each time, and a bit cheaper than other dining options at competing resorts. Definitely felt like our money was well spent here, as oppose to another resort we stayed at in Wailea. Will remember for a long time and definitely recommend!
