Well-priced hotel very centrally located, clean and tidy, comfortable bed, pleasant staff, decent breakfast. Because of where it's situated you get road noise, but if you're a light sleeper it's also very difficult to get much sleep before 2am and after 6am because the floors are so creaky. Any time someone moved around on the floor above, went past my door or up the nearby stairs, I was awake. Unavoidable in an old building like this, but something to bear in mind.

Stayed in the same room, which was great. Weather was brilliant.Great place to get away to.

Stayed Friday and Saturday night. Good location as visiting Football ground and Pavillions for a concert. However room had a lovely view of a wall! Breakfast excellent in lovely breakfast room. Staff friendly.

Hotel staff friendly and welcoming Window in my room would not shut fully so chilly on a night blind also broken but room was clean

Perfect location for everything we needed. Lovely friendly staff. Rooms are dated compared to main reception area but pleasant enough. Room could have been cleaner but it wasn’t enough for me to complain about

Very welcoming staff and very clean and nice rooms. The eveing meal in Steves Brasserie was amazing as was the breakfasts. Great stay all round and i would definitely stay again.

Ease of parking was great as in big city. Room was very comfortable and staff were very helpful and friendly.

We have stayed in this hotel before, but it is such a lovely hotel. It was the first time we used the restaurant, which i would highly recommend as the food was delicious, the service in the restaurant was fantastic and the breakfast was great too. Well worth the money, and we will definitely be back in the near future. The only downside i would say for the stay, was that the bar was very quiet and lacked atmosphere, maybe some music and the tv muted would brighten up the atmosphere...but otherwise great.

Perfect location to explore the city centre.

The hotel was great and staff very accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable too. The only down side is the limited parking at the property, we had to park near by which cost £16.50 for 24 hrs!

Nice hotel, needs look more attractive from outside and the beautiful stone steps needs scrubbing. Reception and bar area needs high polishing

Staff very helpful

Really nice. Have stayed many a time, same name hotel different group ownership. If one comment, laundry etc should be best suited in another lift. Had to wait some time as occupied with two maids, laundry. Also one girl, pulling the bags down the stairs from 5th floor. Not good for them, besides that, a nice stay, just observation from there part.
