We went there when the weather was really not that great, it was after a cyclone. The stay was great, the rooms is enough for my family of four and the sea view is nice. We can see the sunrise, we were blessed with just one day of good weather. The food at their restaurant is yummy. It’s just that we didnt opt for the buffet because of the buffet menu. The outdoor pool was great, but only one spot is heated. What we didnt like were the following: - we were only given one milk (tetra pack 250mL), I feel like there should be 2. - on our sscond day, my husband and I woke up with a bug bite, we were on different beds. Good thing the kids didnt have it. - we shooed couple of spiders, and had a regular visit of flies - outdoor pool was so cold especially when the weather was windy. It would have been nice for the kids if it was heated on a cold day, not heated if it is on a sunny day (just an opinion) - the soap provided was for both hand soap and body wash. - no designated parking for the room, first come first one to get the good spot - the EV charger has no rule on use as someone jut left their plugin car almost the whole day, not allowing others to be able to use. Although this one is not really on the hotel but on the inconsiderate guest.

All we wanted was a good relax and watch tv in bed after a hard long week after a tangi. Instead after and hour of trying to get tv working I call reception to be told tvs aren’t working and no discount was offered. Was clean and tidy and comfortable which was a plus.

We stayed at a king seaview room which has an unobstructed seaview, a deck leads to large lawn area right by the sea which was so beautiful. Not sure about the cleanliness though we found crumbs of food on the floor and one of the pillows have black marks on. The shower over bath dripping water all over the floor from the glass every time you took a shower. Staff are nice and friendly can't complain. Overall we enjoyed ourselves at Copthorne bay of islands.

Enjoyed a relaxing stay and staff service was very good.Breakfast was excellent also.Pool area very good.

This was a most enjoyable stay. The staff are friendly, tge service is great, and the breakfast options are also great, and children eat for free at breakfast time. I highly recommend taking your family here for a weekend stay. Our family are definitely coming back!! Thank you Copthorbe Paihia

Great clean & fresh little spot. We stayed in a superior harbour view King room. Was nice inside, balcony tiny & Harbourview not a great deal to look at. Parking was very limited. Overall a nice place to stay

Copthorne Bay of Islands feels like paradise. From our room to the pool, spa and restaurant - the layout, service and experience was absolutely breathtaking. Me and my partner had the seafacing room with a balcony and truly enjoyed the views and stay. We will definately be back.

The front deck staff were very helpfulness helping us get the right room type. Their recommendations for activities to do around the Bay of Islands were awesome. The dinner in the restaurant was delicious. We extended our stay due to the great service and views!

Lovely refurbished room overlooking the water with boats. Friendly helpful staff. Would stay here again in the future.

Go ahead and book, clean and affordable. Rooms a little dated. Pools are weird with strange unclear access but lovely surroundings. One warm pool but has chipped debis floating in water. No complaints about the food, desserts were delicious, breakfast was a buffet with a lot of choice. Ask what nights dinner is buffet, we missed out and got disappointed. Husband is a large eater and the fine dining portion doesn’t cut it. Eye fillet great, King fish such a small portion it was ridiculous

We recently stayed at the Copthorne Resort in the Bay of Islands. The room was comfortable and provided a decent place to relax; however, the overall decor and amenities felt noticeably dated. The terrace outside our room was little more than a large concrete step, furnished with a couple of chairs awkwardly placed against the airconditioning unit, which didn’t add much to the relaxation vibe. Dining at the on-site buffet was a mixed experience. The food itself was good, but the setting had an institutional feel that detracted from the overall experience. While nothing was outright awful, the atmosphere left me feeling that we'd explore other options if we return to the area. Overall, if you’re seeking a modern, updated resort experience, you might want to look elsewhere, though the basic comfort might suffice if that’s all you need

Could use some updates and cleanup.

Loved the location of this hotel. The concierge Dimitri was very attentive but the restaurant staff were not on the ball. We had to wait over an hour for our pudding and when we raised this it was dismissed and told we didn’t wait that long. The breakfast was not kept tidy throughout the service and there were many spillages around the cooked breakfast area. The pool area was lovely. The bedroom was spacious but some of the fittings had seen better days. Wood was warped and chipped around the fridge. The Waitaingi treaty grounds were excellent and easy access from the hotel.

Filthy room, noisy, no privacy, room booked not as per photos when booking, unhelpful reception when advised of the room, poor dining service, overall so bad checked out 2 days earlier
