The room was lovely rather like a suite. All the staff were well manned and polite. It was a lovely overnight stay - definitely returning.

Very nice hotel and rooms wher nice and big

Staff were impeccable. Food excellent. Whole standard of the place was top class. Just a few minor points to note & could be improved - bedroom window could not be opened to let in fresh air & badly needed dusting. Not enough electrical sockets & could have been better positioned close to mirror for make up, hair etc. Other than that, it was a beautiful atmospheric and classy hotel and full of character.

Clean room, nice spa

The property is in extensive grounds which are great for walking and bird-watching (we saw a Red Kite flying around the woods) The service was very attentive without being too much. The dining choices were excellent. The only slight issue was the cooked breakfast on Sunday was cold (not an issue on Friday or Saturday morning.) Overall, we'd be very happy to recommend this place to you and we'll be back soon.

This hotel & Spa is absolutely amazing, the staff were so attentive to our needs, I had booked this hotel for a treat for my family which they so enjoyed, the grounds are beautiful and the food is cooked from the best quality, yes, the spa is not huge when you compare this to other spa facilities but this gives this hotel spa the advantage of giving you space to enjoy the spa experience, would I travel to this hotel again, most definitely, worth every penny.

Great hotel and staff were very good,my only issue was my room juniper had the extractor style unit from the kitchen right outside my window and was noisy up until 10pm and started again at 6am very loud.

Welcome drink on arrival... Still waiting for it! Raised issues with staff that were handled professionally but could have easily been avoided. Buffet style breakfast with choice of additional cooked to order dishes and continental options 5*. The surroundings were breathtaking. Would recommend as peaceful retreat for all to stay and enjoy local area with much to see and do. 10/10 to cocktail maker Alex.

The location is lovely, the outside of the building is lovely, our room was lovely, the gardens are lovely, the people are all lovely, the spa is lovely. However … We had three meals in the hotel; one evening meal; one breakfast; and, one lunch. The service for the evening meal was quite poor, the food was not great (for the price), the service was extremely slow and quite poor (we asked for a glass of water six times and it didn’t arrive by the end of the meal). I think there was a problem in the kitchen. It would have been better if they had shut the restaurant and only served bar meals. Subsequently I was quite unwell. I had informed them I was gluten intolerant and I think one of the ingredients contained gluten. I was quite unwell the following day. We didn’t eat at the restaurant again. We had a bar meal in the spa, which was fine. We had breakfast on the last morning. When we arrived, there were no staff anywhere. A queue formed and eventually the guy at the front of the queue went into the kitchen to find someone. After that there were about eight staff serving. We could hear them chatting in the kitchen, so really needed some management. It isn’t a very cheap hotel and we expected better.

The hotel’s overall service was good, but the restaurant service was lacking — it was slow, and the food quality did not meet expectations.

It’s a beautiful location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely stay.
