Better in the winter !! No air conditioning room gets really really hot , one fan but doesn't really help .weekends very noisy with outside tables .Overall worth a visit weekdays!!!

All was great close to everything

The staff were very friendly and helpful especially the staff on reception. Nothing was too much trouble.

Very happy with everything here really. Even though there was a wedding event the night we stayed, it was a comfortable stay. The location was ideal.

Room very dated, bed too soft and probably in need of changing, bathroom basin was partially blocked and fit and finish in the bathroom poor. But only £80 so you get what you pay for.

We stayed here for just one night, there was also a wedding on at the same time. However from our room you couldn't hear anything. The room was clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was amazing. Will definitely be staying again. I would highly recommend this place

Due to hot weather I asked if we could move to a lower floor room for our 2nd night ( they had provide 1 fan that was already in the room and 2nd one which I asked for but room was like an oven ..) The staff were fantastic and found a room within a few minutes on a lower floor and cooler .. Thank you to the staff

I stayed one night on my way home from London to the South west as I needed to split the journey. Hotel was about 8 minutes walk from the station through a well lit shopping centre. I arrived just after 11 as my train was delayed, called ahead as I wasn't sure if they accommodated late check in and it was fine. Very friendly staff and a lovely clean and comfy room, perfect for a good night's sleep and great value for money. My only slight niggle was there was no plug socket near the bed or bedside table, and even with a long charger cable it couldnt reach from the desk opposite. Very minor thing though and may have just been my particular room. Would happily stay again.

Location was great! Clean property and room. I wish there was air conditioner in the summer. Also, breakfast should be cheaper for people staying there.

Had to move rooms 3 times and still boiling hot room smell in one room and shower hard to turn on and control temperature but also toilet flushing issue

great location and hope i can have aircon next visit.... fans in the room did the job so not a worry and not so often its this hot in the UK

Good location for attending gigs at The Anvil, Forge or Haymarket venues and free parking if you have a car make this a great place to stay. The rooms are spacious and welcoming with a good shower and welcome tea making facilities.

I needed to be in Basingstoke for work so booked The Red Lion. It has a free car park at the rear of the hotel. There is a bar at the front which I didn't use. My room (49) was spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. The lady on reception and the breakfast staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast room is nice and bright with a good selection of items. I've stayed here three times now and would stay again.
