The photos might hint at the quality of the property but don’t really do it justice. The sweeping easterly, vineyard views across to Monti-in-Chianti and up to Brolio are really mesmerizing. Grounds were well kept. Breakfast had the usual Italian selection of good fruits, grains, meats, breads, and sweets. Coupled with a limited menu of ala carte items and rich cappuccinos! Our suite was located about .25mi south of the main building. We enjoyed the walk multiple times per day but grandma might not. The room was nicely appointed with a living room, large bedroom, closet space and two sink bathroom. Stocked mini-fridge and cof/tea selections. Each room had its own outdoor area with a table/chaise to enjoy with coffee or after the pool. The out door pool is not heated (indoor pool is) but very comfortable on the 90 degree days we spent there. Pool service isn’t quite the same as some resorts, as you would go to the bar to order food/beverage and they’d bring it out to your chair setup. A good selection of menu items are available to choose from. Restaurants on site were excellent. Had the Bistecca at Tuscanio and it was perfection while LaColonna’s carpaccio and fusilli dish were both a treat. Staff was friendly though a bit harried. Seemed like they just needed a few more bodies around to smooth out the place. Ilaria at the front desk was really outstanding with her command and knowledge. While Marcella really made the pool with her wry smile and daily daiquiri selection.

Hotel is sat amongst the Tuscan hills with the most unreal views. Staff are so helpful and nothing was ever too much, they take such good care of you.

The grounds are absolutely picturesque, the rooms are immaculate and beautifully maintained, and every detail reflects the charm and quality you hope to experience in Tuscany. What made our stay even more special was the incredible staff — everyone was warm, attentive, professional, and genuinely committed to making our visit memorable. We enjoyed every moment of our stay and honestly did not want to leave. Hotel Le Fontanelle is one of those rare places that creates lasting memories, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic luxury Tuscan experience. Our only small recommendation would be to improve the WiFi coverage around the pool area, as the connection was very limited. Aside from that minor detail, our experience was absolutely outstanding. Such a wonderful stay at Hotel La Fontanelle! A one stop destination to fully relax and enjoy. A beautiful property, lovely staff especially Carlo! From the pool, to the restaurants, to the winery on property we didn’t feel we had to leave all weekend! The guest relations team helped organize a hot air balloon ride over Chianti! It was a magical weekend! We will definitely be back.

Excelente hotel, vista linda

We stayed in Italy for 10 days and visited 5 different locations and this was clearly the best. We stayed here for 3 nights, and it did not disappoint. We wished we had stayed longer. The facilities, grounds, and guest rooms are large and pristine. Everything is very clean. The food was exceptional including the breakfast and poolside bar which are easily forgotten with the amazing restaurants they have on site. The overall service and hospitality are top tier, and it offers Tuscany views and grounds that are the best in the region. Also, the location is close enough to visit several wineries, (We enjoyed the tour at Castello Di Ama), Siena and San Gimignano for great day trips if you want to venture out and see Tuscany. Do not hesitate. Go ahead and book the Le Fontanelle. You may find some that are less expensive, but this resort offers a perfect combination of Chianti Living, value and A+ service. Worth every dollar/euro. You will create great memories.

We had an exceptional stay. The staff, the property, the food, the activities were all top notch. We missed it the second we left and hope to return in the future. Loved the balcony and view from room 22.

This was one of the most beautiful properties we have ever stayed! The staff was very informative and inviting. The room was extremely clean. Breakfast was much better than advertised with one of the most beautiful views we had while in Italy. Can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend

Bel emplacement, une vue incroyable, les pâtes sont incroyables mais un peu trop guindé pour moi. Les chambres sont OK, sans plus pour un 5 étoiles. Chambre de bain à refaire complètement.

Amazing property! Everything was wonderful. Room was large and beautifully decorated. The restaurant is very romantic setting with beautiful views. Breakfast and dinners were wonderful! Loved the wine tour and tasting!

Our stay at Hotel Le Fontanelle was the highlight of our two week trip to Italy! The views are breathtaking and we enjoyed strolling around the grounds. All of the staff were so friendly and accommodating. We had wonderful meals at the hotel restaurant and the restaurants at the Club House. The shuttle service between the hotel, the club house, and the winery was very convenient. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone- we’ll be dreaming about our stay here for a while!
