Great stay!!! Slept like an angel

Room was dirty. Terrible lights come in at night thru the windows while sleeping. Would never stay here again.

Clean room, helpful staff, but lots of yelling on my floor during late night hours. At one point thought it was outside my window but was on the top floor.

Great location without being overly crowded. Wonderful and helpful staff including the great team at the front desk and front door. Rooftop is a great spot to hang… Highly recommended.

The property was fine overall, but nothing particularly special. The biggest downside was the window AC unit—it was quite loud by itself, but when it rained, the sound of raindrops hitting the unit made it hard to sleep. On the positive side, the location was excellent and very convenient for getting around.

We stayed 11 days at this hotel with my two teenage children. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment. Cons: Incredibly noisy 24/7 (sirens, construction, street traffic)—I had to buy earplugs and use a white noise app to sleep. The room had no blackout curtains, so street and morning light flooded in. No basic amenities like a coffee station or mini fridge. The furniture was worn, the carpet heavily stained, and housekeeping inconsistent (a room service tray sat in the hallway for almost two days). Rooms are very small, and the “4-person” room had only two double beds—far too cramped and uncomfortable. For the high nightly rate, the condition of the property was shocking. Pros: Good location—walking distance to shows and restaurants. Beds and linens were comfortable, and the bathroom was clean (though some towels were stained). Overall: The hotel badly needs a remodel and better amenities. I would not stay here again or recommend it.

Clean room and the rooftop bar

For the price we were surprised by the lack of amenities. Our room had no bedside lights. No light over the bed. A basic shower and a fridge. A coffee maker would have been nice. So would curtains-simple blind that did not block out the light. Limited number of ports to recharge our electric items. No coffee maker or snacks in the lobby. Bar was very small with limited seating.

Good price. People reviewing this complaining about noise on 55th street are really something. Probably worse on a lower floor but we were on 6 and no issues. It’s an inexpensive hotel in midtown. It’s perfect.

Close to theaters

The check in and out process was smooth. They had a designated area for early arrival luggage and staff was friendly and quite professional. The room was nicely decorated and was clean all around. The housekeeping staff were excellent and super helpful.

Bathroom lacked proper counter space, and shower soaps didn’t have the best scent.

Too noisy and cramped

I am writing to express my deep disappointment with my recent stay at Dream Midtown. Unfortunately, my experience fell far below expectations for a hotel of this caliber. • Upon arrival on Wednesday, my colleague and I were told the only restroom available was in the connected restaurant. The restroom was small, unsanitary, and not suitable for changing clothes or handling luggage. • The front desk staff appeared unwelcoming and uninterested in assisting us. • The elevators were extremely slow, to the point where I regularly resorted to taking the stairs to the 7th floor. • At checkout, I was pressured into using what was presented as the hotel’s car service. Without consent, my luggage was placed into an SUV while I was still waiting on my Uber. Only after I was inside the vehicle was I told the ride would cost $97—nearly double my Uber fare. The driver became frustrated when I did not have cash, and when I requested a receipt, I was given an unmarked slip of black paper with no details of the transaction. This felt misleading and unprofessional. The only positive aspect of my stay was the hotel’s location. However, given the issues outlined above, I will not be returning, nor can I recommend this hotel to colleagues or peers. For the price point, the overall experience was unacceptable and at times felt like a scam. I hope you take this feedback seriously and address these concerns for future guests.

Amazing place to stay for exploring NY

good location

The room was small, probably the smallest I’ve stayed in, and there was little space to store my suitcase. Fortunately, I was travelling alone, so it stayed in 1 side of the bed. I also had a window with frosted glass as it looked out on to a roof with windows opposite. On the positive, the bed was super comfy, staff were friendly and check-in.out was easy. The location was also fantastic: Times Square, Rockefeller Centre, Central Park Hells Kitchen and Theatre-land were all within a 15 minute walk. It was also very easy to access JFK airport using the nearby Subway.
