Staff were nice and I enjoyed my stay

Nous étions venus il y a 7 ans. La vue toujours magnifique mais le buffet n’est pas exceptionnel et le personnel pas très serviable. Rapport qualité prix ok mais de loin pas un 5 étoiles.

Had to remain in our room for nearly 2 days after getting food poisoning from an evening meal. Unsurprising given how dirty the “clean” plates and drinking glasses were. Food options for allergies were very limited, nothing advised to be gluten free. Our first day was very much ‘check in and go’, no information given to us about specific details (I.e bar locations) just a sheet of paper with generic info about things on each floor. The room had silverfish including one in the bed, clean bedding often had dirt remaining. With the main road being directly outside our room, sleeping through the early morning was very difficult as traffic increased, lower floors suffer even more so. The hotel describes itself as five-star however as you go beyond the lobby it’s very apparent how tired the hotel is and how dated many utilities are. The carpets are old, the TV didn’t work, the balcony floor was dirty.

+ : belle vue, personnel sympathique - : loin des standards d’un 5 étoiles plutôt d’un 4 voir 3, petit déjeuner de mauvaise qualité, propreté du restaurant (vaisselle), hôtel vieillissant, piscine bondée, eau non potable et peu de points d’eau disponible dans l’hôtel.

Im großen und ganzen ist das Hotel TOP. Wir wurden sehr freundlich Empfangen. Das Essensbuffet ist riesig und sehr gut. Vor allem, da es jeden Abend ein anderes Thema wie "Italienischer Abend" gibt und somit auch ein wenig Abwechslung zum normalen Buffet. Das Personal an der Rezeption ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Vorallem Gabriel hat uns sehr viel weitergeholfen. Die Zimmer sind wunderschön und sehr sauber. Auch das Personal vom Housekeeping ist sehr freundlich. Bei den Liften muss man jedoch immer mehr Zeit einplanen. Es gibt vier Lifte die vor allem zu den Stoßzeiten ewig brauchen, aber sonst auch nicht so schnell sind. Die Barkeeper sind sehr langsam und wirken oft so, als würden sie sich nicht auskennen und müssen daher oft jemanden anrufen um nachzufragen. Aus diesem Grund musste man auch hier teilweise sehr lange anstellen. Was uns auch noch aufgefallen ist: Die Wassergläser waren oft dreckig, was wahrscheinlich durch eingetrocknete Säfte vom Frühstück bedingt war. Noch als kleine zusätzliche Anmerkung. Es ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend, dass es überall deutsche Übersetzungen gibt, jedoch sind diese leider teilweise nicht verständlich und ohne Sinn. Da es in Ihrem Hotel deutschsprachiges Personal gibt würde ich empfehlen dieses darüber sehen zu lassen, da leider nicht jeder die Englische Sprache beherrscht und somit etwas falsch vermittelt werden kann.

Really like the location and the room is very big and the beds are massive. There are signs of aging around the property. The staff are excellent

Wir sind 7 Tage in dieses Hotel gewesen. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt. Nettes Personal und sehr gute Buffet. Die Lage ist zentral. Ein Höchstens 4Stern Hotel aber ok.

Nice hotel

Clean, spacious rooms and friendly staff. The dinner offerings could however improve.

Only stayed for one night due to our flight being cancelled but what an excellent hotel this is. Easy check in greeted with a Prosecco, reception staff welcoming friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable and wow what a view. Was booked in for breakfast and lots of choice and the food was fresh warm and tasty. Cannot really fault this hotel.

Nous avons passé 4 nuits dans cet hôtel , chambre confortable avec une vue imprenable sur l’océan, petit déjeuner varié et complet Un seul petit bémol pour la wifi dans la chambre qui ne fonctionnait pas très bien Sinon tout était parfait

Établissement très bien situé à proximité des centres d’intérêts de porto de la Cruz. Le petit déjeuner buffet est varié et de qualité. La chambre est grande avec une magnifique vue mer. La literie est confortable. Il est très facile de se garer à proximité gratuitement.

A very nice 4* hotel; I’m aware that hotels are designated their stars on the basis of facilities. This hotel is advertised as 5* but in my opinion it is much more inline with what’s expected of 4*. Positives - staff are very friendly, the ocean view from the room was magnificent. Negatives - the coffee at breakfast is truly disgusting, the beds are very hard, the hotel has a very 80’s vibe and decor - think dark wood laminate, foamy ceiling tiles, one buffet restaurant (no ala carte), dismal worn out gym, very small pool. The hotel is pretty much exactly 1 mile from centre of town; great little walk down but a very steep, uphill walk back.
