They are under new management since Feb 2026. They are still trying to get everything right. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. It has a wonderful view.

Amazing views of Hvalfjörður from this quirky hotel. Our room had a bed on the mezzanine floor so plenty of space below for luggage. Would have been good to have a second chair in the room but we made do with going to the lounge. Loved the bar & lounge/sitting room area - great for drinks or (free) cups of tea/coffee. Also great view from spa pools. Breakfast included cereal, skyr, fruit, pastries & eggs/bacon. No flat whites but tea & coffee. Easy parking. No lift but staff offered to help with luggage - we were ok just one floor up.

Beautiful view from the rooms on the hvalfjörður side, the dinning room and lounge area were outstanding. The staff were very helpful and attentive, we very much appreciated their attention to us as tired travelers on our first night in Iceland. The hotel manager was extremely approachable, friendly, he answered all of our questions, and gave us great information for the next few days of our adventure. The property is under new ownership as of early 2026 and they are making visible improvements. The dinner was excellent and the breakfast was also very good. We asked for our thermos to be filled with boiling water and we had hot water for tea and coffee all day! The bed was very comfortable although they are upstairs in a loft. The hotel is very quiet and we did not hear noise from other guests. Highly recommended, and we would stay here again, especially as a base hotel to hike to the Glymer waterfall on a future trip.

This property has been closed for a year. They are supposed to re-open in end 2025 or beginning 2026. Double check first

The staff were the highlight including the chef but the hotel is in dire need of a facelift, including new hot tubs.

The hotel staff were very welcoming! The meals offered and bar had excellent options, even for me when I have to eat gluten free. Hotel is a little dated but comfortable accommodations and nice size rooms and bathroom.

This is a very nice little hotel. the area is quiet. the food is excellent. the staff is very friendly. I will book it again next time if I go there.

Notalegt og fallegt hótel. Fallegt útsýni yfir fjörðinn úr herberginu, rúmið mjög gott. Vinalegt starfsfólk og góður matur. Setustofan virkilega falleg og þægileg. Mér finnst vanta að láta gesti vita af því að herbergið sé á þremur pöllum og mjög hár stigi upp í hlutann sem rúmið er í. Það kom sér aðeins illa í okkar tilfelli. Annars heilt yfir mjög ánægjuleg dvöl í rólegu og notalegu umhverfi.

Great nostalgic feel, phenomenal views and food. The breakfast and dinner was great as was the hot tubs and the staff. I highly recommend if looking to do the Gymur Fall hike.

Abgenutztes und nicht mehr zeitgemäßes Hotel weit unter angegebenen Standard. Sehr sonderbares Personal, welches eher kumpelhaft auftritt und Scherze macht die anmaßend sind. Frühstück ok, aber wenig liebevoll zubereitet. Insgesamt sehr unangenehme Atmosphäre.
