Its been lovely . Staff were lovely .room was lovely .nice and quiet i was up stairs . Comfy bed . Fab shower i got there and was shocked i got a 4 poster bed . 4th stay here and each time diffrent room and they have all been lovely x

Everything was excellent, a great place to stay in Chester.

Kitchen closed on sunday at 8pm. We had been told 9pm. They were refusi g to serve desserts, but eventually dud

Stayed at The Pied Bull for 2 nights March 2025 & have stayed there a few years ago. Lovely hotel /pub with a warm comfortable atmosphere about it. Comfy bed, spotlessly clean, good facilitates. Good hearty full English breakfast. The staff are great & very welcoming. Enjoyed their thursday night quiz too. Location is perfect as right in the heart of historic Chester. Its near lots of shops, bars, restaurants. Easy access to the walls around Chester too. I would highly recommend staying there.

Stayed here a few times and always have a pleasant stay. In the centre of Chester on the high street near shops, bars and restaurants.

We only stayed for 1 night as we were attending a function in Chester. Did not spend much time in the pied bull. The room and service was exactly what we needed for our trip.

Clean, cosy with a great shower.

Perfect central location, friendly staff, comfortable room, clean and today. No heating but oil lamps radiator in the room. This wasn’t mentioned on booking in but no drama. Food excellent at dinner and breakfast. Price for breakfast a little high as limited options other than the cooked breakfast. However location and overall feel outweigh the minor personal issues. Will stay again 👍

Toilet would not flush which was disappointing.

Lovely place, friendly staff and excellent location Unfortunately the wall between rooms was so thin I could hear every moment of my neighbour all night. Also the pillows are terrible- made for a very uncomfortable nights sleep. I appreciate you can’t do anything about the soundproofing in such a lovely old building but the pillows are a very cheep easy fix Would stay again but not whilst working!

An impromptu stay but The Pied Bull was a lovely place. Lovely warm room, basic decor but excellent value for money. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious . Would definitely go back.

We received a lovely friendly welcome when we arrived at the pub. We both loved the character of the building, it's quirkiness and age. We were informed there was a quiz night, which we joined in with. We had a bit of food, and it was lovely. Again friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The only downside as far as I can say is that the opaque glass in the door for the bathroom was an issue for my autistic daughter, but for most it wouldn't be a problem. Just her preference for privacy. check out was simple and again a warm welcome when we dropped off the key.
