Le Royal is a rather old hotel. I was only there for two separate nights. The first room (15-16 January) was on the back of the building, small but large enough for one person. The room was quiet but there was a regular tick in the wall during the night, I suppose from the heating. The wifi didn't work well and getting the shower to produce the right temperature of water was a challenge. The second night (19-20 January) I had a room at the front of the building overseeing the square in front of the train station. Still quiet enough. The room was larger, the wifi worked better, and the shower was friendlier. Staff and procedures were very friendly, straightforward, and efficient. For short stays I'd recommend this hotel.

Great breakfast, room clean and comfortable with great view over the square. Had to wait for staff member for quite a long time to check me in.

Clean room next to the central station. The room is descent no problems. The breakfast is amazing. The room is not renovated but it doesn't have any problems.

Shocked by the standard of the room compared to the pictures. Having prepaid we could not change hotel.

Das Haus liegt zentral am Bahnhof, Marktplatz und fussläufig zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten. Der Empfang war freundlich und ohne Komplikationen. Wir hatten 2 Zimmer im 4 Stock , etwas klein ,wenig Platz ums Bett , aber für 1 Nacht ging das. Frühstück war reichaltig und lecker. Nächstes Mal würden wir andere Zimmer buchen bzw. haben wollen. Dennoch kann man das Haus für einfache Reisen empfehlen.

I would love to actually give this hotel 0 stars, or even negative stars nothing like the photos the place felt dirty, the sink was clogged it didn’t even drain, the shower leaked all over the floor, the only outlet was one janky on in the floor. The room overall felt dirty and disgusting ……The tv didn’t want to work, the bed was the worst bed I have ever slept in in my life I barely slept the entire time by my last night I couldn’t even hardly move from how bad my back was. The metal springs just dug into you like knives. I tried requesting a refund but was completely ignored . If your thinking of staying here just don’t it’s not worth it spend the little more money for a better hotel. You and your back will thank me later.

Great breakfast, not crowded.

Great staff, Nice location. Average breakfast. Not in very good overall condition. Okay shower. Horrible bed. The bed is the main reason for the low mark. Lumpy and uneven.

The hotel is in an elegant building immediately opposite the train station in Leuven and a good 10 minute walk down the main avenue to the historic and interesting centre The room was fine - clean and tidy but, in my case had no views with the one bedroom window looking out onto a shaft (popular with pigeons, though they were not a disturbance and I had a good night's sleep!) Breakfast was included in my rate and was an excellent buffet with hot and cold food, pastries and fresh fruit all on offer

The hotel should have been classified as an “up-market back packers hostel” The whole place, with the exception of the Breakfast Room, was tired and shabby and in desperate need of a makeover. It was indicated that parking was available - yes in the City but NOT within the hotel. Overall very disappointing experience.

The staff was kind. The rooms are ok.

Very, very noise surroundings Not a single night sleep without being woken up mulitple times by noise from the street or the bars. We stayed at 3rd floor - but still very loud. The location is central - but still we were taken by surprise of the very noisy area.

Short stay. Very nice. Great breakfast included. Older facilities in a historic building. Service was great. Welcoming and helpful attendants. Great value.

Fint läge. Fick först ett vedervärdigt rum som jag bytte mot ett bättre. Dock fortfarande trasig fläkt i duschen samt dåligt vattentryck i duschen

Location was amazing although overlooking the square, it was noisy. Room was clean but some areas worn down and not spotless. Overall enjoyed my stay and recommend the hotel.

Basic but clean and comfortable, and has a lovely vibe. Nice bar/restaurant. Excellent breakfast.

Ligging in centrum is perfect, onze kamer was echter klein en gedateerd (smoezelige gescheurde vloerbedekking en smoezelig voegwerk in de badkamer), er hing een rioollucht in het trappenhuis en de gangen.
