The location is good, but that's about all I can praise here. First, this is not a place you want to stay if you travel with significant luggage (given the labyrinthine and narrow hallways) - but that was not the issue for me. Rather, the room environment was not comfortable as the room thermostat had no effect despite being on and claiming to register my setting changes. (And who has decided that a single heavy bed cover is good, rather than multiple layers of bedsheets?) But the main issue was that the noise was awful. It was not the people in the pub below that were the problem, but rather the constant slamming of doors somewhere below on the ground floor - slamming which went on till after 1am. Hotel staff also rather uninterested that you are there. I can not recommend this place, especially at the price charged.

A great place to stay if you need to be in that side of London. Excellent food and great drinks.

El aire acondicionado dejó de funcionar y nos ofrecieron un ventilador como solución. Pedimos que nos cambiaran de habitación pero nos dijeron que el problema afectaba a todas las habitaciones. Les pedimos que nos enseñaran otra habitación para comprobarlo ya que en la recepción y en la primera planta se estaba fresco. Nos enseñaron la 16 y la temperatura no tenía nada que ver con 21, habitación en la que nos alojábamos. Nos cambiamos y pudimos dormir, a pesar de que el aire no funcionaba . La única pega con la nueva habitación fue que una de las luces no llegaba a apagarse ya que el interruptor no funcionaba. Hubo muchas disculpas por parte del personal pero ningún detalle compensatorio.

Bår vistelse hos The Alma var verkligen över vår förväntan. Trevligt rum som fram för allt var mycket tyst. Badrummet var lite daterat med mögel i hörnen. Vattenkranen för varma vattnet för handfatet var helt lös. Toalettartiklarna helt underbara. Kaffemaskinen var ett riktigt plus med gott kaffe. Vi kommer absolut att rekommendera The Alma till vänner och bekanta och även komma tillbaka vid nästa resa till London.

The Alma is conveniently located by the train station. It’s literally steps away. It’s in a great area with dining and shops in walking distance. They have a lively pub and quaint restaurant on site. The rooms are comfortable with space to stretch out after a long travel day.

Very nice stay and very friendly staff! Pedro was particularly helpful! The restaurant menu was excellent with very attentive staff.

We experienced a warm welcome. The room was nice clean and cosy. And breakfast the next morning was excellent.

The Alma was perfect! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and the rooms were super clean and nice. We will definitely stay here again when we return in the future.

We had a great time! Perfect experience if you want a pub feel, but still a lovely room and quiet stay. They have an adorable pub dog, tasty breakfast, and lots of attention to detail. Everyone was so kind.

Eine tolle Unterkunft. Stylisches Hotel, zuvorkommendes Personal, hervorragendes Frühstück, bequeme Betten und eine Haltestelle direkt vor der Tür, was will Mann/Frau mehr? 😊

Very cute and cozy place. Right next to the train station and pubs. And amazing breakfast! Can’t wait to go back again.
