We were looking for somewhere to stay whilst attending a family function and by chance cane across The George and Dragon. We are so glad we did! What a beautiful pub with bundles of character. Our room was gorgeous; modern yet rustic and equipped with everything to make our stay spot on! Staff were lovely and attentive, and breakfast was amazing. We were greeted by a spread of freshly baked croissants, jams, cereal and orange juice. We opted for a cooked breakfast which was again spot on. We would most definitely return and will recommend to any friends and family! Thank you to the tram for making our stay fabulous:)

Quirky pub but a hidden gem,owner(chippy) outstanding,foods glorious,will definitely stay there again.

Wir hatten einen fantastischen Aufenthalt bei Chippy und seinem wunderbaren Team! Leider mussten wir nach einer Nacht schon weiterfahren, aber das gemütliche und stilvoll eingerichtete Zimmer werden wir vermissen. Das Essen (abends und Frühstück) war herausragend, 12/10! Die Gegend ist zauberhaft und ein toller Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge! Danke für die Gastfreundschaft!

The staff are very friendly and we did enjoy the stay. The breakfast is fabulous. The bath tub inside the room is wonderful. The room size is very spacious.

Had a lovely time on our stopover day 2 of our 5 day canal walk bath to newbury. Landlord goes the exta mile (literally and figaritively!) Cheers for the lift to our lock!

Very good experience, very warm welcome from them, very comfortable sleep and good food in the morning. The building is so very old and so full of character but very well maintained and we really enjoyed it.
