After a very long walk it was a real treat to arrive at the hotel. A pint outside looking at the amazing view was really special. Our room was small but clean, well equipped, comfortable & had a good shower. Everything we needed. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend.

We stayed two nights for a reunion of friends who graduated from university 50 years ago. The hotel is a traditional pub with four small but comfortable bedrooms and a terrific location with wonderful views across the Peak District. The second night was quiz night, so we fielded a team and came somewhere in the middle of the pack. Lathkil is ideally located for many of the classic places in the Peaks, and for walking the fells. We spent the morning of our full day visiting the Magpie lead mine, and the afternoon at Chatsworth walking around the gardens. The weather was sublime, and evening drinks outside the hotel looking across the fells were a highlight.

Great place to leave the car and go off walking

We stayed just the one night, it was a comfortable room and a large comfy bed with a fantastic view! A powerful shower with huge towels provided, it was a great way to start your day. An included cooked breakfast set us up for the day. Staff were most helpful and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely stay here again if in the area,

The room was clean, the staff went out of their way to be helpful, the breakfast and evening meals were very good. The views from the property were excellent and a real selling point.

Lovely small hotel in a quiet little village with amazing views. The staff were so friendly and helpful. It is a perfect place to enjoy walking or just visiting the lovely houses nearby. Breakfast was freshly cooked and plentiful, and the bar was well stocked with a good choice of beers, offering a range of classic pub fayre. The rooms and bathroom were spotless. Would fully recommend.

Lovely, lovely, little Lathkil. At first, we feared Google was taking us into the wilds of Derbyshire never to be seen again. How wrong we were; Lathkil, originally The Miner's Arms (1828), is a delightful, cosy, and beautifully done up gem. Views of the dales, and of grazing sheep. Easy access to walking trails. Good food. Friendly hosts. Beware: steep steps to the guest rooms. Would definitely revisit. walking paths, and the hospitality.

We booked a room with a view which was lovely to wake up to. The room was small but clean and had plenty of tea/coffee and milk for our stay. We stayed on a Monday night when the bar and restaurant were closed but this meant we had a very quiet night and a good nights sleep on a very comfortable bed. The breakfast choice and service was fantastic and set us up for the day.

Kleines Gasthaus in idyllischer Lage auf einem Hügel. Nette Gastgeber, gutes individuelles Frühstück, kein Buffet. Etwas abgelegen, was aber durch die tolle Aussicht wettgemacht wird.

The hotel was lovely, the staff couldn't do any more to help us. The breakfast was very superior to any that we have had in a long time. Our room had an en-suite, coffee making facilities, hair dryer and one heck of an awesome view of the dales. The best part for us both was that they had a bar, so we could venture out during the day and rewind with a few drinks with our dinner.

Absolutely fantastic stay. Comfy (cosy) room with a team that couldn’t be more helpful. Lovely food for dinner… amazing breakfasts… and great range of beers. Absolutely stunning views from the restaurant and outside over the hillside. Highly recommend!
