Bar og reception er lukket bortset fra søndag formiddag, man må ikke anvende den terrasse de annoncerer, morgen mad indtages i en lille isbar, og ikke på terrassen (bortset fra søndag). Dette er blot et værelse man lejer, det er ikke et reelt hotel. Man kan ringe til et nummer hvis der mangler noget. Vi kom ikke igennem og måtte selv skaffe toiletpapir. De få gange vi mødte personale var de venlige. Hvis du blot skal leje et værelse (varmt, kun et vindue kan åbnes), så kan dette bruges men et regulært hotelophold kan det ikke være. Det eneste sted man kan opholde sig bortset fra værelset er fortov foran isbar hvor der er mange hunde og måger, ingen loung, bar lukket og terrasse lukket. Vi lavede last minute booking. Nu ved vi hvorfor der var ledigt. Samlet 2 stjerner. En for idyllisk gammelt hus og en for central beliggenhed, men så er der ikke mere at rose

It was a lovely place to stay, close to all the places we wanted to visit, the room was very nice and the breakfast was delicious.

Lovely place to stay. The lady who greeted was very friendly. Room was big and the bed was very comfortable. It took a while for room to heat up as I hadn’t realised all the thermostats were turned off. I had a bit of disturbed sleep as I stayed when it was very heavy rain/ windy so the windows were rattling (understandable as it’s an old building). I would recommend staying here as it’s very affordable.

Whilst the establishment overall looked fine, and may well deserve it's good reviews if you are staying on upper floors, my particular room on the ground floor, overlooking carport/ bins was not great. It was clean, but at the end of a dark, damp corridor. I wasn't shown to room, didn't find light switch initially (in common with 2 other guests I met) and nearly fell down the steps first time. Whilst the room didn't smell quite a bad as the hall, there was a damp- smelling bathroom. I heard scratching noises at night- disconcerting! The furniture was fine, but overall paintwork etc a bit tired and needed refresh. The kettle lead was very short, and so difficult to balance on table without being pulled down by extension. I think this particular room should not be let out at least until the damp smell is sorted out. Sadly disappointing.

My son and I had a lovely stay in The Old Borough Arms. Excellent staff, supremely welcoming and friendly. They go above and beyond for their guests. Cozy room, with all you need to have comfortable and enjoyable stay. The highlight: The most delightful breakfast on the terrace! Definitely recommended.

The single room (9) was a little small but ok to use as a base. Could do with a little tlc to be honest. If you are a late riser, you may get some noise from the street right next to the bed.

This is a cute place, in the middle of Rye, staff were nice, bed was comfortable, but there was a strong damp smell in the hallway and sewage smell in our toilet. The shower tiles were mouldy in the grout and the shower drain full of hair and soap scum.

Great B&B with a nice location in the middle of Rye. Nice restaurants within walking distance and easy to find a parking place even if B&B does not offer such. Room was a bit tiny but nicely decorated and with comfortable beds. Breakfast was very nice and staff was very friendly.

Had a wonderful time an everyone was so lovely, helpful and welcoming, rye itself is a wonderful town, very beautiful with great food
