the room was comfortable and clean, staff is very friendly and accommodating, nice place overall. i will be staying there again in the future

First it was very hard to find , don’t go off the pictures as the hotel and rooms are nothing like them , the hotel reception staff are very polite and welcoming I do feel for them , the building is old and not very clean there is a charge of £7 for overnight parking, the room I was on the top floor was big enough cleaned but could have been cleaner still bits and bobs on the carpet, kettle had water in it as did the iron , bathroom was clean plenty of towels all clean .bed very soft but you can exchange for a hard mattress, breakfast was bad not a lot of choice mostly cold and the toaster kept on having to be turned off as it was setting fire to the bread . One night stay for the money I paid was ok I suppose.

What can i say best 1 i stayed in. Walking distance to town area room nice clean bed was lovely . Best nights sleep i had if could pick mattress up ide taken it . Breakfast great selection buffet was nice and hot i highly recommend anyone to stay there

The hotel had many different unpleasant smells. These stayed in the entrance, lift, stairwell and corridor. The carpark was fine but additional £7 per day The lift was very dirty, looked like someone had pulled in it and badly cleaned. Someone had spat on the wall inside which was so they 36hrs later

Excellent location close to Westgate Station. Comfortable room which showed signs of recent refurb. Breakfast poor - limited choice and poor quality. HI Express have really gone downhill on this…. OK for a one night stay but otherwise we would be looking at other options.

Very good central location, a bit tucked away so it was quiet. Close to both train stations in Wakefield, which I needed. Staff were very clear with info and it was spotlessly clean. Would stay there again

Room and bathroom were clean but settee broken and unusable, bed wasn’t very comfortable even with mattress cover you could feel where previous people had indented. Staff were friendly, but at breakfast if a table wasn’t occupied it was filled with plates, most food was empty and coffee choices reduced (machine broken) not enough staff to clean, replenish etc, it basically felt they hadn’t planned for number of guests.

Stayed for one night. Car park was full so used the multi-storey nearby which didn’t offer overnight parking only full day. Bedroom curtains didn’t shut properly which allowed a lot of light in from 5am. The floor of nearby rooms creak very loudly which was annoying early in the morning as others were getting up. Bathroom was dirty, no plug in the plug hole & it didn’t drain properly. No hot water after 10 mins of running the shower. All I need from a one night stay is a quiet/dark room & a shower in the morning. Didn’t get either!
