Convenient location. Parking was round the corner and the entrance to the cathedral was across the street. Five minute walk to the shops etc. The staff was extremely helpful. Excellent breakfast. In house restaurant. Historic and quaint property which is its big charm but also means no elevators or air conditioning. All other modern amenities are present. Bathrooms are fully modern. Rooms are very clean.

Super fint gammelt hotel, med wow-effekt når man kommer ind på værelse nr. 5. Mega hyggeligt med badekar i stuen, så man kunne se tv med rigtig mange engelske kanaler. Dog bliver det værelse vi havde utroligt varmt når solen skinnede og eneste vindue der kunne åbnes, var på badeværelset. Der var dog en blæser på værelset (ikke aircon). Det ville have været fint hvis vinduerne kunne åbnes. Og det ville have været rigtig rart med et lille køleskab. Personalet var altid imødekommende og lånte os også en strømadapter. Der var dog en enkelt misforståelse i forbindelse med noget rengøring på værelset, hvilket kunne have været afhjulpet med et "forstyr ikke" skilt. Morgenmaden var fin, men vi savnede ost til brødet. Der var ikke varm morgenmads buffet, men de 5 retter de serverede var rigtig fine. Hotellet ligger lige ved katedralen og meget tæt på centrum og shopping. Parkering ligger lidt væk (Brown Street car park) og koster 8 £ om dagen.

Stayed here for one night. Room was immaculate with large slipper bath & walk in shower. Plenty of tea & coffee provided & 2 bottles of water. Yhe ki g size bed was really comfortable. The full English breakfast was freshly cooked hot & very tasty. All the staff were very efficient & friendly. Would thoroughly recommend staying here.

This was a great historic property. We loved the 800 year old stairs.

We found the Chapter House very comfortable. I slept well as the room (no. 4) was very quiet and the bed was so comfortable. Easy walk into town and near bus stops. Very close to the cathedral. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were lovely. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

The building is centuries old, so keep that in mind. The stairs are not always level, but they manage to provide modern amenities. The restaurant is a favorite among locals for good reason. And the House is across the street from the cathedral. So convenient.

I had a very large quiet room at the side of the building on the first floor. Number 9. The bed was wonderful , comfortable with good pillows. The building itself is an historical gem. The furnishings and renovated bathroom are top notch. Breakfast was included, There could be a bit more choice but adequate. Location for the Cathedral opposite couldn’t be more perfect. A great team at The Chapter house. Thank you .

Breakfast was terrific. Wide range of choices and delicious eggs. Only disappointment was that we asked if they could prepare oatmeal/porridge, and were told no.

The staff are friendly and we secured the room we wanted. The restaurant is excellent, it serves great steak!! The hotel is very old, so things do creak a bit. Salisbury shopping isn’t the best with a few empty units.

Grade 1 listed building/hotel with a historic past close to the cathedral gate house with amazing grill restaurant with some South African dishes Lovely happy staff nothing is to much trouble for them. Executive room was large most comfortable bed ,sofa bed , gorgeous fireplace ,furniture,wood panelling great detail,all amenities you’d need inc iron and iron board,plenty tea and coffee with a pod machine. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if visiting Salisbury and Stonehenge.

We are both professors and visited Salisbury in January 2026. We stayed one night, had dinner and enjoyed the bar in the property and breakfast served in our room --nice touch and attention to the guests, (the kitchen was going to be under renovation for a few days). The entire experience was amazing! From the attentive and friendly staff during check in, dinner, the interesting stairs --so authentic!-- and the service was incredible. Best steak ever!!! And dessert, sticky toffee pudding is a must! Friendly and attentive staff, knowledgable bar service, and the location was amazing! Our room, oh boy, we LOVED it! Very clean and organized, the tub inside the room was so relaxing. We LOVED our stay and appreciate all the attention from the owners and staff. We will definitely stay there again and recommend to anyone we know. Thank you!

The male staff member who checked was excellent, throughout the whole stay. Unfortunately there was an older man on the staff, whose abrupt attitude and inpatients was verging on being rude. Shame had two separate incidents with him during our short stay. Shame let the side down. The breakfast layup was good. Just one criticism, If your offering yoghurt , fruit and cereals. There is a very good chance the guest might like to take advantage of the offering, before you rush out the pre ordered cooked breakfast, which my case was virtually cold once I had finished by yoghurt. Also serving Avocado and poached eggs on thin sliced brown bread, unfortunately becomes a soggy mess. Im not saying I didn’t enjoy what I had, but, if you check with ypur guest when you xan bring out the hot food first and serve them avocados and poached eggs on toasted sourdough would produce a nice crisp base.

This old place has character, super comfortable beds, and a great breakfast. Would definitely stay here again. Staff was also super friendly and helpful.

Good location and simple check in, but the remainder was average to poor. Service seemed a chore, room was dirty, tiny and with poor and aged furniture. Not what was advertised. Breakfast arrangements needlessly difficult.

Always have a good stay here… The rooms are amazing. The staff are lovely and the breakfast is awesome
