Best room we've had in my entire 11 nights tour in Italy where we stayed in 5 other hotels before arriving at Sant' Anna hotel. Size of room was big (relative to the other rooms elsewhere), and the room deco had a "wow" effect when we opened the door. Best of all, lots of table space to place luggage, lots of clothes hangers and functional amenities. Though its elevator was small, the other hotels we went to elsewhere was equally small though it is not as ancient as Sant' Anna. Its proximity to Vatican and the shopping areas was excellent.

Great historic hotel in a good neighborhood 3 blocks from St Peter’s Square. Many restaurants on the street and easily walkable as an old Rome neighborhood with the cobble stone streets. Closer to the Tiber and Castle San’Angelo. Lovely breakfast and friendly, helpful staff.

Very easy and pleasant. Close to everything

The location is very convenient. Lots of restaurants around the area. St Peter Square and Vatican museum is accessible by walking.

The rooms are very clean and spacious. The coffee and tea making was definitely a big plus for us. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel as we had early tours booked. There are great restaurants in the hotel street. We tried 6 of them and they were all had amazing food.

The room was amazing. A out door patio in the back and a very unique room which had walls painted uniquely. Staff was amazing

We stayed on several hotels in London, Paris, and Frankfurt during our trip though Europe. This was the only hotel that its air conditioning worked very well. We enjoyed their great location, about a block from the Vatican. There’s even a small convenience store around the corner where we could buy water and snacks and there’s also a lot of restaurants and gelato stores literally next door. The street in front of the hotel it’s for pedestrians only, so it’s quiet at night. The hotel offered a shuttle service to pick us up from the airport, at a price lower than Uber, though it has to be paid in cash to the driver. Their breakfast was great and reasonably priced. Overall we had a very good experience with this hotel. We highly recommend it.

What an amazing experience. The staff are friendly and helpful (great recommendations for dinner), the hotel is charming, the neighbourhood is interesting and walkable, and the location is great.

Loved this place and the character it had! We only stayed one night and wished we had more time. It’s located in a great location and close to the Vatican! Highly recommend!

A beautiful old building in a perfect location minutes from Vatican. A stone throw to many terrific restaurants and patios. Some of the friendliest staff we have experience in the EU. Highly recommend this property for an enjoyable stay in Rome

Excellent location

We booked same day and were lucky to find a room anywhere in Rome. Our VRBO cancelled and we needed a place for the night. The hotel staff was amazing, the room was clean and perfect. The hotel turned our horrible situation to wonderful. The hotel is in a great location with lots of shops and restaurants.

Very nice hotel, clean room

Great Hotel! My wife and I stayed at Hotel Sant'Anna over Easter weekend 2026. The staff was fantastic. They knew the area, suggested some do's and don'ts, and we most helpful when our flight home was canceled - rebooking us around the corner. The room was clean, everything worked, and was most comfortable. The breakfast area was clean, attendants were perfect, and the buffet had something for every taste. Location is 2.5 minutes from San Pietro. Great for a nighttime gelato, quick walk around the square, then home to rest. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the Vatican area. The only negative was not under their control. The weather was unseasonably warm, but the hotel was not allowed to run the air conditioning due to government regulations. With that, we needed to open our windows overnight to get some cool air. The restaurants along the street have outside seating, and when they close, the restaurant staff is not very quiet as they drag their chairs and tables back inside, and conversing using "outside voices" along the way. It only lasted about 30 minutes, but after 11pm when you've been walking for 8 hours all day, you want quiet when you sleep. But, that was just because of the lack of being allowed to run AC. The one night we kept the windows closed, it was quiet and easy to sleep. This is not a complaint about the hotel. The warm weather was very welcome, and the noise was a small price to pay. :-)

Great staff clean room We had a front room, which was a little noisy until around midnight lol AC could be a little cooler. But at night windows were open, cooled room off.
