This is by no measure a 5-star property, but a well used 4-star facility. The upkeep is not really up to par, with mold in the bathroom, bathroom doors peeling severly due to water damage, stained towels etc. The breakfast is fine, but, again, not up to 4-star standards (including 5-star hotels in Portugal). The common spaces like the dining room show extensive damage due to use (and lack of maintenance?) and there's peeling paint in the hallways. However, the staff were exceedingly friendly and the price we paid in mid-May (around 150 € per night) was right for a 4-star place.

Check in was great, with a welcome glass of Port. Breakfast was perfect every morning with plenty of options and very scenic views. Room was little dated and the area itself is secluded. If you’re looking for that, than this is the spot. The highlight of the trip in Douro was the wine tour about an hour away. Beautiful area beautiful resort.

Tudo fantástico

The Breakfast was very good and fresh with plenty of options. Many types of pastries, fruits alternative milks. The front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable about the Douro Valley. The rooms had incredible views of the River. Rooms were spacious but were dated,they need a refresh. Bed was comfortable though. The area was good but you definitely need a car to see the rest of the valley and vineyards.

Hotel completamente desajustado. Serviço não condizente com um hotel 5*. Áreas comuns em péssimo estado, completamente degradado. O restaurante tem uma qualidade preço péssima.

Sem dúvidas é o hotel com uma das vistas mais lindas e com um dos melhores cafés da manhã! Porém, por se tratar de um hotel 5 estrelas, esperava alguns aspectos a mais, por exemplo, quando chegamos, ninguém nos ajudou com a bagagem. Outro ponto é que TV que não é smart e o wifi que não funciona bem nos quartos e varandas. Atendentes simpáticos e quarto confortável!

Balcony view was brilliant very relaxing place to stay

The location is truly stunning. The view from the top floor and pool area is so spectacular. The staff was excellent. The breakfast was top quality and so much choice. Dinner was also excellent although pricy. The spa and pools were great as well. Overall the hotel is a great spot, some of the decor felt outdated and outdoors some repairs are needed. But we were very happy with our stay.
