Really enjoyed our stay at the Belmont. Good location, room spacious and super clean, great WiFi, everything and everyone was good. I would definitely recommend.

The hotel and staff are wonderful .The location was perfect right by the beach and town . However, the hotel expect clients to dress for dinner men in a shirt and tie !! Which we found very old fashioned and annoying , so didn't have dinner in the hotel there are standards to which I understand but telling you what to wear for dinner is a bit much !!

The position of the hotel is superb and the staff, service, food all excellent. Old world charm and elegance in abundance! Shame the 30 minute massage at the Victoria only lasted 20 minutes! That apart, the Belmont is first class!

My visit to the Belmont was perfect. It is the first time in many years that a venue has exceeded my expectations and some. From the dedicated parking space, through Reception to our room left no doubt that we were expected and welcomed. Every member of the team we met were professional, cheerful and interested in our wellbeing. The dining room staff and the food were first class with the experience enhanced at dinner by the inclusion of a pianist at a grand piano! The hotel’s position and amenities are second to none and, though the weather during our visit left much to be desired that didn’t detract from our enjoyment. I have no doubt I will be returning to the Belmont in the future.

Great location right next to the beach and all the shops on your doorstep

Everything about The Belmont suited us. From its wonderful position - close enough to Sidmouth town centre to take a walk after dinner but far enough not to feel overcrowded. Beautiful sea views from the lounge bar and Horizon restaurant. Food was fantastic for choice, quality and cost. The staff were exceptional - friendly and eager to please. The room we stayed in could have been a little bigger but that was due to our budget. Beautifully decorated. Well done and a big thank you to all the staff.

Mixed review. The room was clean, even if a bit dated. The bathroom could have been better for the room rate. The mira shower was similar to the one I had at home more than 20 years ago. The pillows were firm and of poor quality for a room costing over £300 per night but the bed was comfy. The longe area had a fabulous sea view and was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The parking was easy. The breakfast was a bit sparce for £40 but cooked very well. We would stay again if on the area.

Very well pleased with our stay, from the moment we arrived to our departure, the service we received was first class from everyone. Lovely room, great breakfast and a lovely hotel.

The view was lovely, the staff were great and the hotel us beautiful. The only downside us ylu can hear everything outside and housekeeping woke me up both mornings at 6.30am

This hotel is absolutely amazing. Really attentive friendly and welcoming staff who can’t do enough for you. It’s a really nice touch for the general manager to take an interest in you and also personally ensure you are enjoying your stay. The food is exceptional and everyone is so polite. Nothing is too much trouble at this hotel. We will definitely be back.

Room was hot due to an exposed hot water pipe. Shower lacked a decent water pressure. Sink took ages to drain. Toilet seat was broken (but was fixed after a day). Bed was small ( should be king size for the price) and mattress was old and lacked sufficient support at the edges. All in all quite disappointed for the cost.

Excellent. The staff we lovely. Just a couple of points we noted - We stayed in the room opposite the lift and the lift was quite loud. There is also a spotlight which shines very brightly in to the room.
