We recently stayed at the Hyatt Place DC/National Mall and had a great overall experience. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from the National Mall, museums, and several major attractions like the Smithsonian and the Capitol. It made sightseeing with the family incredibly easy.
The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, with modern decor and a cozy seating area that worked well for relaxing or getting a bit of work done. The beds were very comfortable and the blackout curtains helped ensure a good night's sleep.
Breakfast was included and had a decent variety—hot options, fresh fruit, yogurt, and pastries. It can get a bit busy during peak times, but staff kept things replenished and tidy. There’s also a small café/bar in the lobby and a rooftop bar that offers great views of the city (especially beautiful at sunset!).
The fitness center was clean and well-equipped, and the rooftop pool is a great bonus, especially in warmer weather. Staff were courteous and helpful throughout our stay, and check-in/check-out was seamless.
The only downside was the parking—it's valet-only and a bit pricey, but that's fairly standard for the area.
If you're visiting DC and want to be close to everything without breaking the bank, Hyatt Place on the National Mall is a solid choice. I
